Spiders may be one of the first things to see in your house, but they sure take lovely pictures.

What a cool capture!  This looks like a breed of  Wolf Spider.  I used to have a friend who was terrified of spiders and one time I went to her house, (we lived across the street from each other) and she didn't answer her door, so I went in and yelled that it was me. She yelled back from the kitchen.  I go in there and she is up on her  counter by the cabinets and pointing to the floor, going "Kill it"!  I look over where she is pointing and there is this gigantic greenish brown spider with beautiful markings.  I am not afraid of spiders so I had her get me a half gallon sized mason canning jar down that she had in a cabinet,(she was up there anyway,) and I got a piece of paper and herded the thing into the jar; which was no easy task!  Poked holes in the jar lid, she got off the cabinet and I am wanting to find out what kind of spider it is.  Back in the 70s  there were only a few poisonous spiders in our area.  Black Widows, and Tarantulas.  So we decide to go to the Library to check the reference books.  Talk about an exodus!  People were getting out of our way!  But the librarian let us go back and look it up.  It was a wolf spider but I had never seen one that color.  It was more green than brown.  Really beautiful!  When I tell you this was gigantic, believe me it was.  The diameter of a half gallon mason jar is 4.4 inches and this thing was actually big enough that his legs  were cramped looking in there.  After determining it was not poisonous, we took it out into the country and let it loose.  That is what I do with spiders.  I thought you might enjoy that incident.  By the way, this guy is just beautiful!

I can't understand people are afraid about spider, more some of her are big! So you made the good thing to not to kill her, there are useful and most of them are harmless. I made the same when i find one in my home, i put her outside.
And about this specimen i think also it's a wolf spider. I like the posture in this one. Thanks

I agree, I think people just don't like how they look.  I believe that is part of it.  My favorite spiders are the little jumpers, as I call them.  Jumping spiders.  So cute and they are furry looking.  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_… I wasn't sure if you have them in France but it appears that you do indeed have the little cuties over there as well.  In the course of looking that up, I read about their vision.  Really amazing!  They can see in 4 color spectra.

I don't believe in killing something, simply because of what it is, you know?  I am a very nature loving person and have always believed that once there was a perfect balance in the world, where nature is concerned and that every time a species becomes extinct, then it throws that balance off.  Look at the bee population problems.  I don't think we can survive as a planet, without them.

Yes, I think it is a wolf spider as well!

You're totally right about that and as you said, every species have a role to play! I read recentcly that almost 60% of the european invertebrate disappeared because of the man during the last 30 years!!
I wiil read your article about jumping spider and yes, we have also in France.
I have several in my gallery like :
