Description Predicated on the use of energy to manipulate the environment and/or information
- it can convert one form of energy into another
- can be stored or be used to store information
- magic spells can be used and manipulated one after another, to create new spells, this can be stored as pieces of information (writing, drawings, etc) for later use. When this is done it allows the user to cast the desired spell on the spot, without crafting it first
Due to it's high energy properties magic is often used as a food source for various animals
Everyone produces magic to some extent, but casting with only self-produced magic is limited, although it can be expanded through practice

1. thermal > ability to apply heat or take heat away from a given area
2. gravitational > ability to manipulate gravity, levitate objects, make objects heeavy
3. kinetic > ability to accelerate objects, ability to apply force whilst not actually touching anything
4. chemical > ability to manipulate organic matter, ability to construct semi organic matter
5. light > ability to manipulate light to create illusions

magic uses:
non combat:
> [thermal, kinetic] a fire blast can be made: used in large blast furnaces
> to cook food [thermal] (most effective with water)
> [gravitational] to lift things (often used in construction)
> [light] often used by griots and entertainers to make a visual display to supplement their stories, a form of art
> [chemical] used to make monstrosities (tokoloshe), diseases (adze), cures for diseases, healing
> [thermal] if enough is used can potentially cause rain by directing it towards the clouds (this takes a lot of effort, and doesn't always work)
> [thermal] refrigeration

combat
> [thermal, kinetic] a fire blast can be created
> [kinetic] magic missiles
> [kinetic] magic sheilds
> [gravitational] increasing opponent weight, causing fatigue (doesn't always work)
> [light] illusions
> [kinetic, gravitational] used to throw things
> [chemical] used for making diseases creating monstrosities or other undead things (necromancy), enhancing one's physical abilities

enchanting: can be done with any magic conductor
> on weapons and tools it often involves etching pattern/words with the magic spell into the weapon/tool, however, this is expensive, requires a source of magic energy (either from the person weilding it, or a battery), and can wear off with use (requiring the spell to be re-etched)

> tattoos/scarification are technically another form of enchanting, allowing users to store spells on their body this doesn't wear off, however this can subject the user to weakened versions of the spell they cast (depending on the power of the spell, this can cause bodily harm or alterations ie: burning [thermal], becoming slightly shorter/taller [gravitational], muscular dystrophy [gravitational]) certain types of magic are more dangerous than others in this regard
-it is possible to "enchant" animals, but this requires sapient activation of whatever spell used as non-sapient species can't cast magic
