A piece I have been working on since about April this year. I procrastinated a lot, and to call it monotone would be an understatement. Creating this picture involved the drawing and tracing of lots of spirals for one, and it was not fun to draw it all to the finish line. But I do not like scrapping things, so I power painted this thing to the finish line in the last month.

I called it Red Library because duh. It is red and is a library.

Making this showed me that I am keen on losing myself in details. You can see it in the books, scrolls and banners, where I spent long hours writing in a conlang script. I borrowed a lot from Tengwar so my mind would not break, but also tried out my own ideas in some areas. I also tried to give all the writings their own kind of "lore", even if they don't mean anything specific and hid game references at some places. The original resolution was overkill (This is also why I am uploading a jpg. The png is 58 MB).
As a consequence, this might be my most complicated drawing ever, and I might have been too ambitious with it. I was constantly value-testing my work and still think there are issues with the visibility of the characters, but at this point, I don't know what I can do better. In the future, I am going to focus on less complicated works where contrasting parts of the image is a bit simpler. Just so I don't find myself trying to doctor the images too much in post-processing.
