nice work! looks very realistic. you're getting better in leaps and bounds!!!

the shadow made by the cap visor gives it a 3d touch. you could heighten that effect by giving a shadow on the left side of his nose (and protrude the end of his nose a bit?). also, making the hair stand out in contrast to the cap would help.

...and what happened to your trademark 'shining eyes'? even if it's not in the photo, you can still add it (it's called 'creative license'!). it'll make this portrait look more alive!

i'm sure your friend'll be very happy with this! congrats!

(chk out my cleanup tutorial to get rid of those shadows at the border of the paper and make your art look more like the original when you post it online)
