The character suddenly turns into a confused retard who attacks fellow party members, kills himself, whatever. HATE IT. Especially in the .Hack// games! omg, so annoying. But it is sometimes funny when I'm running away from an enraged BlackRose...

Ahhh, confusion. The reason why I carried around 99x of the item that cures it (can't remember the name, it's been a while and my friend is currently borrowing my copies of IMOQ). Preparing to enter a field in .hack// is like preparing for a vacation - you don't realize what you've forgotten until you need it and you're already on the plane.
