I missed you Clopin D:Just a break from all the THOR stuff I've been into, and I've just really been meaning to draw something Disney.
I think I was aiming for a more realistic Victor Hugo-esque portrait of him... even though I know close to nothing about medieval gypsy king attire. And I really just can't bring myself to make him look as ugly as Hugo described him :/ Maybe one day...
Buuuut there is a story behind those shoes. In art history I was told that in medieval times (possibly more so in England?) the pointier your shoes were, the more protected from witchcraft you'd be. So, you're wondering why the king of knaves would be worrying about that? Well, I recently heard another story. The longer a /man's/ shoes were... well I think you've caught on XDDD

If his hordes of Mary Sue fangirls are any indication, I highly doubt Clopin has any problems wooing the ladies.
Medieval gypsy attire was pretty much the same as it's always been; very colorful. They're a performance arts culture, after all. They exaggerate everything for effect. It works, too. There are some very entertaining videos on YouTube of Roma performances. I'd love to meet a troupe of Romany gypsies.
