Description spoiler alert

I saw How To Train Your Dragon some days ago (late, I know, whatever) and I totally fell in love with it. ;u;

sdsdggdf There're just no words to describe how much I loved this movie. The animation and the story and the music and the EVERYTHING. It was all so awesome.

The ending was so touching I just had to make some sort of tribute to it. To me it was like the ultimate symbol of friendship and I just thought it was the most heartwarming thing ever. ;~; /lame

This movie reinvigorated my drive to become an animator. \o/

Oh this is so lovely. You did such a wonderful job drawing Toothless and Hiccup. I love that you drew Toothless' complete profile, you don't see that done much.

Beautiful picture! >]X3

Thank you so much! Yeah, you don't. It's understandable, cuz honestly the hardest part of drawing this was the lack of refs. You don't see too many clear full body shots of Toothless in the movie, let alone screencaps on the internet. Thanks again!

hey I hate to be annoying or odd but could you draw a pic for my fanfic cover?

I have not seen the movie yet, but this fanart is still very touching and heartwarming...
I really love it, the boy especially is really cute (hiccup, right?)
And you must have spent a lot of time drawing the dragon *v*

Looks like you listened to the demanding folk and decided to keep on drawing beautiful stuffs. You have a big fan here, you know? <3

Oh man, you need to see the movie whenever you get the chance. <3 It's just such a beautiful film.
Thank you! I'm glad you find it touching even though you haven't seen the movie. ;u; That means a lot that I could convey the emotions successfully. (And yes, the boy's name is Hiccup.)

Thanks again! *A* Gosh, such compliments. Here's to hoping I'll never let any fans down!

I will try... I didn't get to see it at the cinema because my parents weren't especially interested and it was in french. I don't like to watch films subbed in french.

You are welcome (he is so cute I have a thing about redheads haha)

Yes, motivation! I want more motivation, let me hear your motivation! x)

FFFF PARENTS DON'T UNDERSTAND. *just watched it again for the 3rd time* Oh, it was subbed in French? I thought it would have been dubbed. Do you prefer dubbed?

Lol, his hair appears a bit less red in the movie at most times, but this is just my interpretation of it's color, I guess.

Touching animated movies are my motivation!

FFFFF NO THEY DON'T. It's okay, imma' buy the DVD.
Oh I'm sorry, I meant dubbed. Man I really need to get a brain. I hate dubs and prefer when it is subbed (french or english, I'm not racist ok).

Still. He has FRECKLES. I love him ;u;

Always follow your dreams, rebel! \o/

DUMB PARENTS. D8< Yaay. \o/ I bought the DVD, too, actually. Didn't see it in theaters. XD
Thanks for clearing that up. I understand though, it was a simple typo/mistake. :>
I feel the same. Although sometimes dubs are good. Like Hetalia's English dub, fuuh I love it. (why would anyone think you're racist for that? D: )

I don't know, never tried to watch Hetalia dubbed :/ I might try it someday. (and I was just kidding xD)

It's one of the few English dubs I actually enjoy. : D (asdgg I thought so, but sarcasm doesn't transfer too well over the internet. XD)

LOVE LOVE FFF

Thank you!
And oh man, animation would be so much fun. The process of it I think would get stressful at times, but just seeing the finished product would be worth it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jiohui In reply to rebel467 [2011-03-22 01:35:29 +0000 UTC]

I feel like that's kind of how it is. Look forward to the finished result instead of the actually process XD
Except at this point me and 3Ds get along so badly I have nothing to offer about it. XD From what I can gather, it is okay once you get used to the program.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rebel467 In reply to Jiohui [2011-03-22 03:49:26 +0000 UTC]

The finished product is always the best. It makes all the work worth it when you can sit back and say "I made that." <3
Oooh yeah. I've tinkered with 3D stuff before, and although I can't say I understood it all, it definitely did get easier after a while. That stuff takes time though, to render stuff in a decent quality. @__@

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jiohui In reply to rebel467 [2011-03-23 16:57:48 +0000 UTC]

Definitely. The result is so satisfying when it all goes right <3

3D. Just 3D.
And yeah, rendering takes forever. It's crazy lol.

I drew something like this when I was in high school and bored. It was a druid hugging a dragon, though, not a normal boy.

This is beautiful, and adorable. And you're absolutely right, it is the absolute symbol of friendship, the way they bonded without words and risked so much for each other. Great tribute

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rebel467 In reply to AvannaK [2011-03-21 01:33:26 +0000 UTC]

I was just thinking that, too. How they because friends without any words, just by being there. Thank you very much. : D

You're not lame for loving this movie! (cause that would make me lame too! XDXD)
It is WAY too awesome! Your drawing is so wonderful, it totally captures their characters!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rebel467 In reply to DatoBiscotti [2011-03-20 04:22:53 +0000 UTC]

Heck yes.

FFFF THANK YOU SO MUCH. I was putting a lot of focus in trying to not only draw the characters right (cuz I suck at drawing other peoples' characters, and dragons, and my animal drawing abilities in general are rusty) but I was also trying to capture their friendship just right. So I'm really glad you picked up on that!

YUS~

SPEAKING OF PRECIOUS. I can't get over the ending. How their situations got flip-flopped and Toothless had to help Hiccup adjust to no longer having a part of his body that's vital for moving. GUUH IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL it's like "you helped me so now I'm going to help you." I AM SO LAME FOR LIKING IT THIS MUCH BUT I DON'T CARE. Goooshh this movie. <3

It's goofy time.

I MEAN FUUH. I've come to the conclusion that movie producers are running out of ideas. I mean, fuckin really, a movie about the creation of Facebook. I'm not a big FB hater, I have a FB, but seriously guys.

And you did an awesome job portraying them~! The ending was the best, so non-classical kid movie. FFUUUU. So awesome.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

rebel467 In reply to teepott [2011-03-20 03:29:37 +0000 UTC]

sfsdgdfs thank you thank youuu
And it was very non-classic in a way that it still taught a classic lesson about friendship. <3 I mean, we all knew Hiccup would survive but I did not predict at all that he'd lose his leg. You don't see that kinda stuff in kids' movies. (it's usually HE SURVIVED AND THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER THE END.)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

teepott In reply to rebel467 [2011-03-20 03:52:15 +0000 UTC]

EXACTLY. I was so happy when I saw that he lost his leg(which is kind of strange when I think about it...) but it made it so much more of a real story. It had so much depth for a kid's movie. omg I am resisting the urge to track it down and watch it again.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rebel467 In reply to teepott [2011-03-20 04:54:23 +0000 UTC]

So was I ffff. I mean like...I was sad because he lost his leg, but happy because they didn't make it all pretty and coat it in sugar. I mean, there's no way he'd get outta that battle without a scratch. And it sort of leaves you to think about after the movie ended, how Hiccup's gonna adjust to the loss with the help of Toothless. Aahhh I have this feeling that all this plotty depth is kinda wasted on most kids. But it's okay, us older kids can appreciate it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

teepott In reply to rebel467 [2011-03-22 00:55:56 +0000 UTC]

fuuu that movie is so good. And I don't think it's ENTIRELY wasted, but I think keeping an animated movie open for adults is the best way to go about it. Makes the whole experience less tortuous for the parents.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rebel467 In reply to teepott [2011-03-22 03:52:03 +0000 UTC]

True that. Cuz then the kids can revisit it when they're young adults like us and be like MAN WHAT A GOOD MOVIE THIS WAS. And appreciate all the stuff that flew over their heads when they were little. But I've a feeling a lot of parents just don't get the kids' movies, either. XD Like, they understand it, but in their heads they're just like "oh kids' movie, it's stupid. :T" Cuz when I went with my mom and sis to see Tangled again my mom just said it was a good movie and that's about it. She don't appreciate art, I tells ya!
