Probably one of the scant photos online taking at Joshua Tree that doesnt actually show a joshua tree
I'm a bit disappointed that I made a real effort at getting out away from everyone, to the point I was rather unnerved by the silence and solitude, but still picked up a lot of light noise. On the right is the effect of the sun. This time of year I had to shoot earlier than I would have liked to get the interesting part of the MW, but to the left are actual city lights. Meh

Still very impressive. I am yet to get anything I'm happy to upload. It's even harder to get away from light pollution in the UK...
What settings and lens did you use?

wow, so sorry I never responded to this! I only just saw it...two years later
I used the Sony 16-35gm set to 16mm, wide open, about 20s exposure with 16k ISO as I recall.
