I was wondering what he was magic-ing at first. It's subtle, and I like that.

If Fancypants is controlling one star, who's controlling the other three?

Trixie
Blueblood
Chrysalis
Cadence
Shinning Armor

OOH! Could you make similar pictures with three of them? It would make a lot of sense!

That is a great idea! I might actually see about making some more along the same idea. I could stage each one around a different character, a different place in Equestria... I am liking this idea.

The Mare in the Moon in the background, casting his shadow in front of him, suggests to me that perhaps Nightmare Moon had an agent in Canterlot prior to her attempted coup and subsequent defeat...

Almost exactly my thoughts! Here is a little extra food for thought, a quote from episode 1. "On the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape"...

nice although I do have one complaint, his cutie mark seems a little too far up on his body. Other than that, it's a really good piece.

Mysterious! I'd love to know the plot behind this, if there is one.

My inspiration for this piece came from a quote early on in the series, "On the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape.." I am fairly certain some glowy dots wouldn't be that useful, so it instead I thought of taking a deeper meaning for the phrase. Those are my thoughts, but it is open to all opinions.

Well, I'm inclined to believe "The stars will aid in her escape" to imply that since the sun is a star and Celestia controls the sun, that it was Celestia who freed Nightmare Moon, that's why she wasn't around when NMM escaped. Nothing that happened that night was a surprise to her, it was really Celestia springing a thousand year old trap to free her sister.

A fine point! However, if you do recall, it was Celestia who banished Nightmare Moon for a thousand years, and she seemed more than eager for some revenge. For this reason I doubt that Celestia simply went in to hiding, but instead was banished or captured by some means. Another point is that Nightmare Moon mentions that the ponies will never see their princess again, something she couldn't be so certain of if Celestia was still roaming free. As for her knowledge of what was to come, she herself stated that she was aware of the prophecies.
