I like my D50 a lot, aside from minor things.
I would reccomend getting a lens other than the kit (18-55mm) lens. When you zoom out all the way, you can slightly see soft corners. However, it's a wide enough lens that you have plenty of room to zoom in a little bit to avoid that. Also, it doesn't have a PC Sync flash terminal, which can make studio shooting a little more difficult. If that doesn't bother you, I'd reccomend getting one. In my opinion it's currently the best one in its price range. Hope that helped a little.
