This is walfasized Cheburashka (from Rus. "Чебурашка") - Soviet handmade two-seat microcar used to teach children the traffic law.
"Cheburashka" was built at the Central Station of Young Technicians of Tbilisi, Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic at 1974. It is intended for educational purposes and is designed for young and middle-aged children. The microcar is based on a kart frame without depreciation. An open body of a sports type is installed on it. From the same kart - wheels with mechanical brakes and a steering device. The brake drive is mechanical, only for the front wheels.
The driving wheel is only one - right rear. 2,2 HP engine was taken from the micromotorcycle "Java-50"; it's cooling was produced by counter air flow. The motor is installed between the seats and covered with a decorative hood. The speed switch is lever. The car can reach speeds of 25-30 km/h.
The control system includes the clutch, foot brake and gas pedals (cable traction). The entire control system is assembled in one unit, which can be adjusted depending on the driver's height. For learning to ride, there is a place for a redundant control system unit. The instrument panel - speedometer and other contact indicators - is mounted on the steering wheel.
The electrical equipment of the microcar is of a motorcycle type. Direction indicators have been adopted: the front ones are mounted on the common panel of the false radiator, and the rear ones - on the upper bar of the safety arc.
The body is made of 10m thick plywood. It was assembled by two wooden blocks 50X50 mm on screws with countersunk heads (on wood glue).
In the finished form, the entire body is pasted over with silk or beyaz on wood glue, then painted with nitro paint after the putty with nitro-putty and cleaned with fine waterproof sandpaper. It is advisable to polish and install moldings after painting.
A spare wheel mount is provided on the bonnet.
The bottom of the body is coated with noise-absorbing mastic, which motorists use to protect the bottom of the car from corrosion.
The decorative wheel rims are also made of wood, covered with silk and painted. The seats are made of 50 mm foam rubber, covered with corduroy with a decorative insert made of staple fabric.
The body shape was invented by the youngest fourth-grader at that time, Gia Indzhiya (Гия Инджия).
