Please Download to see fullsized sketchy goodness~ I'll probably scrap this in the future.Yes yes, another sketchdump. But 'tis more Zelda related this time around, and it's not just Gorons! *le gasp!*
I've had the urge to draw ~Genolover 's Zelda OC's for a long time, especially her Goron fire mage, Karno. He's made of awesome, along with the rest of the colourful cast that make up the main characters of her Zelda fan story, "Mages of Element". After starting on a doodle of Karno in class, (the one of him with the map) I couldn't quite stop! If you want to learn more about Genolover's characters, search up "mage" or "MoE" in her gallery and check out the pictures she's drawn there~
Near the bottom marked with red instead of brown are my own forgotten Zelda characters from fanfic and roleplays that were brought back to surface during my doodles.
Nyadi reminded me a lot of a more outgoing Deku gal I had from a Zelda roleplay long ago, named Viiva Waterlily. Viiva was designated to be the next Forest Sage, and coincidentally has very similar powers to Nyadi. Except, instead of being cute and super-polite like Nyadi, she tends to have an extreme passion for poetry, a sky-high ego, and an interestingly eloquent way of speaking that completely falls apart once she loses her temper. xD
And Karno's vest wearing awesomeness reminded me of my dear illiterate Goron from the same roleplay as Viiva, Gorgaia Dongonro. He's a professional Dodongo wrestler who lives to uphold the noble Goron tradition of wrestling, and yet, is strangely humble and laid back with a strong accent to boot. He's not the brightest torch in the mines, but he makes up for it with friendliness and overall talent in physical combat, possessing a unique "fighter's concentration" that keeps him from feeling pain until he loses focus on fighting, and a very keen gut-instinct that he hardly ever ignores.
The Zoras on the side are already uploaded on here from a long time ago. Some of you may remember the two Zora children, Muni and Mari, and the guard character Kendru. Just did some revamp doodles that may contribute to their updated refsheets in future.
Anyways! Enough babble.

Don't worry, Peppy hasn't been forgotten~ He's actually getting a deviation all his own soon since I'm making up his reference sheet at the moment. I think I've finally found a way to draw him that isn't too hard to get right more than once, especially his feather-hawk. x3 My good artist friend was a huge help with that. I don't know where to begin commenting XD Haha, I have SO much trouble settling for a good outfit for Piln, it's not funny. Finally, I have a much better idea that I will soon present hopefully, but the Icarus getup still cracks me up XD
Nyadi is totally adorable! You made her insecurity and shyness come out perfectly. And yeah, scared of ghosts, poor little scrub X3
I don't know what you do, but your Gorons look good and handsome >3 Look at Karno being all cool there XD And Gorgaia is adorable with the little Deku on his head.
And your Zoras look really good. They seem more fleshened out than the actual skinny OoC looking ones, which is a nice touch. And the babies are just huggable >w<

Even if his constant changes do cause trouble for ya, I find it interesting to watch Piln evolve. I feel his current look with the blonde hair is working really well. As for his mage outfit... Hee~ I can't help a snicker. Mostly because of his cute bitty Pit wings~ As long he's stuck with those, he's prone to comments on his manliness, and I find that really awesome. xD Can't wait to see your new outfit ideas for him so I can experiment with drawing him more. He didn't get enough love on this page since I ran out of space.

Karno's cool and handsome in the first place, so I didn't have to work hard to get that down~ >w> <3 *laugh* Fangirling aside, it makes me glad to hear that you like the style I use for drawing Gorons. ^w^
I actually had to think a little more when I was drawing out the Zoras, since I'm so used to drawing more chunky, fleshed-out characters (too many Gorons...). But by your comment, it seems that tendency worked more in my favour than I thought! x3 Thanks~ I may be doing a more detailed pic of the Mirva doodle, since she only got the one sketch on the page.

...And I would seriously LOVE an art trade or something with you like nothing else. OwO Your style is so bright and unique, and seeing you draw some of my characters would honestly make my week. >w< <3
[If you were going to draw my characters though, methinks I'd really have to update their references, especially Tonta's... The ones I have of them up right now are stupidly old, now that I realize it. o_<;;]

Yeah, Piln has been an ongoing struggle since I want to make a Hylian character that balances cool with stupidly hilarious and at the same time, keep in mind that he mustn't become a Link clone XD I think with the look I have for him at the current time, that is finally achieved. Yes, teeny wings are still part of his atire. Sorry Piln XD
I think I put a little bit of myself in each of these four characters, but mostly into Nyadi. She is practically me characterwise. Nice to hear that you like her so much. I don't know many people who actually really like Scrubs aside from you and me XD
My Gorons are still close to the OoC format; round, cute and loveable XD When it comes to doodling, Karno makes for the best scribbles.
I struggle most with Mirva as Zoras have different facial structures and it's tough to draw expressions on a character that has no real eyebrows XDD
We could do a Zelda fanchar arttrade :3 You know my four XD If you would pick out a handful of your chars that you feel comfy with (design wise) and show them to me, I'd be happy to draw something for you ^^
And yeah, my MoE chars need a decent ref sheet too XD Their previous ones are a little shoddy.

I think I know which characters I'd like to see you draw now, and I'll get their references redrawn and given to you sooner than later, hopefully. I can't wait to see how you interpret them in your style. >w< <3 I think I'll get you to draw Mandara (my main Hylian), Tonta (my main Goron, who you probably know), Viiva (*points up*), and either my shy Zora kid Mohji or my Lizalfos mage scientist Apep. But I think I'll let you choose whoever interests you more, and give you a bit of artistic leeway. .w.
And I wouldn't say your MoE references are shoddy, just a little spaced out, especially with Piln's constant evolution. *laugh* New refs would be nifty for future drewdles, especially since I'm itching now to do a pic of everyone in their mage outfits looking awesome and fighting baddies, but there's no rush. ^w^

Thank you kindly~ <3 I think I may be doing a more detailed, coloured version of that Mirva doodle in the future, actually. She turned out a lot nicer than I thought she would, and I really want to properly show the water she's supposed to be manipulating~
I'm quite happy with how my Zoras have been turning out actually, since I've focused on Gorons and humans so much in the last while, I've had to force myself to relearn drawing more slender figures. *laugh*

I've got a few pages of good Goron drawing tutorial notes etched out now, so I'll certainly post those up for ya when I get access to a good scanner. ^^
I tend to go over my deviation comments a lot to review my work and responses, so that's probably the only reason I even remembered. xD *laugh* Here's hoping this semester is going easier on you to give you a chance to recover from your mental meltdown.
