Well, as i mentioned in that one, they have different personalities and are also more mature and also in a bit if a different situation.

Since Dib is a bit more grown up, less rude, and less "compulsive", he learnt that if he was less so he'd be taken more seriously. So, instead of going crazy about Zim he decided to keep quiet about his alien ness and just become friends with him. Turns out Zim has been in Earth many years and has wised up before he went to Hi Skool with Dib.
