“Shell Games”

It was supposed to be a routine night for the Batman, the dark defender of the city of Pittsburg, PA and secret identity of billionaire industrialist Bruce Wayne. He had discovered a small team of criminals had broken into a bank depository and he swung over on his grappling line to confront them. Batman managed to sneakily take down the majority of the invaders, but when it came to encountering the final one of them, they immediately became aware of the Batman and attacked! They initially shot at Batman with a handgun, but when the Batman dodged all of those shots and seized him by his throat, the criminal fought back with tremendous strength! This attack threw back the Bat and the criminal morphed into a mechanical exoskeleton shell that encased him. They fought back against Batman and matched him, but then Batman got help from another fellow hero to turn the tides! The Red Tornado used her own exoskeleton’s barokinetic technology to blow back the criminal with a powerful gust of wind, saving Batman. Teaming up, Batman and Red Tornado defeated the powered-up criminal and disabled the exoskeleton he wore for good. Later, at the Batcave, the Batman’s secret headquarters, he and Maxine Hunkel, Red Tornado’s civilian identity, were examining the pieces of the exoskeleton they had taken back from the criminals that commanded it. Maxine explained that her personal workshop had been broken into a week ago and her digital files had been successfully broken into, not to mention specific parts of her hardware had been pilfered. She had traced the thieves to Pittsburg and was looking into it when she discovered Batman fighting that criminal using her technology. Putting their heads together, Batman and Red Tornado traced a signal being put out by her hardware to an abandoned natural history museum some blocks from the Batcave. Batman took off in his Batmobile to the museum with Red Tornado following behind via her exoskeleton’s flight capabilities. Batman snuck into the building first, asking Red Tornado to stand by in case things go sideways. Inside the abandoned building, Batman found several armed goons patrolling the building, so he managed to ghost past them and take them out one by one. Soon enough, Batman found a large atrium where several criminals were making their purchases of complete exoskeletal shells built using Red Tornado’s technology. And the one selling them was none other than the illegal weapons dealer Oswald Cobblepot, alias “The Penguin”. Batman dropped from the ceiling before any one of the buyers could step into a shell, then tossing some explosive Batarangs at the shells to disable them before they could be used. The criminals either ran for the exit (only to be caught by Red Tornado outside) or try to fight Batman, to no avail. When Batman got to the Penguin, however, the crime boss soon enough revealed that he had a shell on him, himself. One that quickly folded over his stout and portly frame and makes him tower over Batman by a couple of feet. Red Tornado soon came in to assist Batman in fighting the powered-up Penguin. However, Penguin’s shell is much more durable than what they were anticipating, so Red Tornado’s barokinetic blasts were less effective. The duo then figured out that there is a small gap in the armor. They focused on striking it as hard as they could until it was wide enough, then Red Tornado flipped her barokinetic technology in reverse! She vacuumed out the oxygen supply from Penguin’s shell, nearly suffocating him until he collapsed. With the bird-man down, Red Tornado and Batman managed to remove the shell and take back control of it. In the end, Penguin, his men, and the buyers of his pilfered tech were arrested by the police. The two heroes watched from a distance before Batman summoned a Javelin ship to help Red Tornado carry back the remnants of her technology back to her base.
