Description

In the dark of the night, an American embassy in the Middle Eastern country of Iran had been infiltrated by several rebel insurgents, led by an armored cyborg called the Red Panzer. They disabled all communications to the outside world and took the visitors and employees of the embassy hostage. It was not until morning when the insurgents contacted the USA to declare they have hostages. Calling themselves The Onslaught, Red Panzer and his team demanded extreme religious reformation in the States towards Islam, or they will start killing their hostages one-by-one. The USA has 12 hours to comply. The United Nations quickly assembled in reaction to this and came to a conclusion: give the go-ahead for their agent Mason Tsumo to enact “Operation: Global Guardian”.
As the 6th hour towards the hostages’ execution neared, the police and military blockade around the invaded embassy held firm as The Onslaught continued to patrol the taken-over area. The hostages were all being held in the main office guarded by two Onslaught insurgents. Suddenly, in the basement of the embassy, two of the guards were attacked from the water system by an unknown figure and were knocked out. Their attacker was a teenaged meta-talented girl, calling herself Aquazon, who led more into the embassy secretly through the sewer system to fight the Onslaught and free the hostages. Another member of this team, Ice, used her cryokinetic powers on the ventilation system, literally freezing several terrorists in place in strategic locations. The team attacked the forces of the Onslaught with their powers, with Godiva sneak-attacking the terrorists guarding the hostages with her prehensile hair. Red Panzer realized what was going on and took an escaping hostage he caught to the roof of the embassy. He threatened to shoot them as he was confronted by this team, but he felt a sharp pain in his neck that caused him to drop his hostage safely. Unknown to him, B’Wana Beast, who can mentally control animals, sent a fire ant into a crack of Red Panzer’s armor to bite him. With his bargaining chip gone, Fire shot a flame blast at Red Panzer. Struck by this attack, Red Panzer engaged his flight-pack and tried to escape, but flew headlong into an energy barrier constructed by Blue Lantern. Then, Black Condor, the field leader of this team and their eye-in-the-sky, tackled Red Panzer out of the air, sent him to the ground, and punched him out. The police and military arrested the Onslaught members. Later, outside the United Nations in New York City, Mason Tsumo made a speech introducing us to the United Nations’ new meta-talented crisis operations force:
The Justice League International.
As the people in the crowd cheered the new government-led superheroes, another watched this on their monitor. This person declared that this new Justice League won’t stop their plans, and they turned to face their weapon they will use in their dark scheme: The Clades Ex Orbiculus…

Notes:
* Black Condor, the leader of the JLI, is John Trujillo, a Native American fighter pilot for the US Air Force who is wearing a specialized flight harness created and perfected by DARPA. He represents North America.
* Bunker, representing Central America, is Miguel Barragan, who was exposed to chemical runoff from the now-dismantled Prometheus Corporation and gained geokinetic powers (like Geoforce, but not as strong so far).
* Fire, representing South America, is Beatriz de Costa, a Brazilian woman who was given her flame powers in an explosion from a chemical weapon during a terror attack.
* Ice, representing Greenland, is Tora Olafsdotter, a Homo magi who controls ice. She’s asexual and in a relationship with Beatriz.
* Godiva, representing Western Europe, is Dora Leigh, who’s prehensile hair is actually a nanotechnological implant created by the black market scientist Circe. Circe forced Godiva to commit crimes for her until she was arrested, and Mason Tsumo gave her a new life with the JLI.
* Representing Russia and Eastern Europe is Dmitri Pushkin, codename: Rocket Red. The Russian government was creating a team of battle-armor wearing soldiers called the “Rocket Red Brigade” and they assigned #4, Dmitri, to join the JLI as their liaison.
* B’Wana Beast is Dominic Mndawe, representing Africa. His mystically-attuned mask allows B’Wana to mentally control animals and merge two different species into a powerful chimera he commands.
* From Lebanon comes Simon Baz, former criminal, member of the Blue Lantern Corps, and representative of the Middle East for the JLI. His Lantern Device is shaped like a handgun.
* With her real name known only to her, Ghost Fox represents China. She is a skilled assassin and has hunted down the Triads in China and Hong Kong. She fell in love with Chinese general Fang Zhifu and he convinced her to take Mason Tsumo’s offer to join the JLI.
* Kimberley Kimura of Tokyo, Japan represents the rest of Asia for the JLI, under the codename Aquazon. Half-human, Kim’s deceased mother was an Atlantean who passed on her abilities of superhuman swimming ability and underwater adaptation to Kim. She was raised by her widower father, Dr. Riki Kimura, who was opposed to Kim joining the JLI.
* Finally, we have Mitchell “Galaxor” Davies, who gained his powers due to cosmic radiation while serving as an astronaut aboard the ISS. He represents Australia.
* The Red Panzer who led the attack is not the same one who was defeated by Wonder Woman and the future Wonder Girl.
* The Clades Ex Oribiculus’ dark purpose will be revealed soon enough…
