Description

In the snowy mountains of Colorado, there is a luxury cabin hidden somewhere in the woods, guarded by highly-trained agents of the US government. After President Eiling pardoned Amanda Waller, former high-rank agent of CADMUS and member of the Cult of Algol, due to his being blackmailed, the CIA and the DEO, the government agency that replaced CADMUS, placed her in protective custody until further notice. Waller was soon enough relocated to this cabin with all of her needs met. One night, an unknown intruder silently assailed the cabin’s perimeter, silently and non-lethally taking down the guards before any of them could alert Waller or the other guards. The intruder, Oliver “Green Arrow” Queen, a member of the Justice League, cut through the defenses and reached the living room and Waller. Cornering Waller, she fought back with hidden firearms, but Green Arrow defeated her. He interrogated her about what information she had on the President she extorted him with, and she revealed that the Prometheus Corporation, a now-defunct biomedical corp., had been dumping pollution and they bribed President Eiling himself to look the other way. GA began to leave, swearing to do everything he can to put her back in prison, but then the lights went out… A shadowy new intruder attacked GA and Waller! GA tried to defend himself but he was not swift enough to defeat them and he was fatally wounded! As the one remaining security camera continued to roll, it captured the intruder taking their knife and slashing Amanda Waller’s throat.
Amanda Waller is dead.
When the Justice League, investigating Green Arrow’s personal investigation into former CADMUS employees, reached the cabin, they set up a perimeter and looked into what happened. Green Arrow was still alive, but clinging onto life, so they had to place him in a medically-induced coma on board their Watchtower satellite, in the medical wing. As the investigation into Waller’s death progressed, security camera footage, forensics, medical autopsy, and any other investigative measure that Batman took to gain any clues he could yielded only one person as the one responsible for Waller’s murder, the one wearing that full-body suit that concealed their identity…
Cassandra Kane.
Batman’s former partner (and former family) had betrayed him some months ago, and now she’s murdered one of their old enemies. Aboard the Watchtower, the team argued over whether or not Cassandra was truly responsible. Black Canary, a solo heroine associated with Green Arrow, was in the medical wing of the satellite, brought there by fellow hero Red Tornado. Back with the argument, Batman and others on the team conceded that Cassandra was the murderer, but Superman and the remaining members argued that she wasn’t. Superman also tried to take a measured approach and say that they should wait until Oliver is out of his coma to see if he can give them any insight. Batman, angered, said that they cannot wait for that and they need to find and bring Cassandra in before she kills anyone else! He began storming out of the conference room and was stopped by Superman, who said that he needs to calm down and realize that he’s becoming quite biased and paranoid.
Batman’s gauntlet began glowing with red sun energy, which is a weakness of Superman’s, and he punched him right in the face!
