Description
In New York City, for the past week or so, four members of The Titans, a superhero team, have been staking out a warehouse in an industrial district. Joining them were The Ninja Turtles, a family of mutated animal vigilantes whom the Titans here, Raven, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Speedy, had met through their fellow Titans Steel and Wonder Girl. You see, the Ninja Turtles helped Steel and Wonder Girl, alongside Robin of the Justice League, find a poisonous mutagenic ooze that had afflicted NYC some time ago. They neutralized it, but only after the heroes worked together to defeat The Foot Clan, a criminal organization that wanted to use the ooze for their own ends. Now, the Ninja Turtles heard reports that the Purple Dragons Gang had been raiding laboratories across the city, so they asked the Titans for help taking them down and ending whatever scheme they were cooking up. Tonight, the Ninja Turtles, consisting of brothers Leo, Donnie, Mikey, and Raph, were skulking in the shadows of the Purple Dragons’ base alongside Raven and Speedy. Cyborg was a block away, observing the scene remotely through camera drones, and Beast Boy was on the ground floor, shape-shifted into a rat that evaded the notice of the Purple Dragon gangsters. The leader of the Purple Dragons, a large man called Hun, called in to tell a mysterious benefactor of his that they have all the components they requested, and they “better have the money they owe”. The Ninja Turtles and the Titans concluded that the Purple Dragons are working for someone else who wants these chemicals, but for what reason? But, without warning, two masked men, both brandishing baseball bats and other sporting equipment as weapons, broke into the warehouse and began attacking the gang members. Out of their depth, the two vigilantes were soon enough overwhelmed before the Ninja Turtles and the Titans emerged from where they were hiding to save the two of them. Hun and the rest of the Purple Dragons, including two thugs known by their nicknames “Bebop” and “Rocksteady”, escaped in a van containing the chemical components as the rest of them were getting beaten by our heroes. In the heat of the moment, one of the masked vigilantes swung his bat at Cyborg, who blocked the attack and seized him by the collar. The grabbed vigilante tossed off his mask to reveal he’s just a kid, about 16 years old (around the same age as the Ninja Turtles). As the tension died down, Cyborg dropped the kid and the other, a 17-year-old, picked him back up, swearing that he was “gonna kick his Titan ass” for what happened. Leo, leader of the Ninja Turtles, stood between Cyborg and the older vigilante to calm things down as much as he could. Police sirens rang out in the distance, and the Turtles, the Titans, and our two young vigilantes retreated. They made it into the sewers, where the Ninja Turtles and the Titans talked with the two interlopers. The older kid is Larry Crock, and the younger kid is Casey Jones. Casey lost his father at a young age to the Purple Dragons’ criminal activities, so he turned to vigilantism and dedicated himself to wiping the Purple Dragons out. Larry Crock was a high-school sports star who excelled at many sporting disciplines. He was kicked out of academic sports for deliberately injuring another player, which the Purple Dragons framed him for as part of their gambling operation, and when he learned it was Hun’s doing, Larry swore revenge. Larry took Casey under his wing when he met him and learned of his own vendetta against Hun. Raven, the leader of the Titans, showed concern to Leo about letting two under-trained vigilantes help them, and Leo agreed. Larry was outraged that they were about to be denied a chance to “wipe out the Purple Dragon scum”, but Casey had to talk him down, saying their out of their league if superheroes like the Titans are getting involved. The Ninja Turtles offered Casey and Larry to come down to their sewer home some time, as their father and sensei Splinter, a humanoid mutant rat, can teach them discipline and martial art skills. As for the current situation, Cyborg and Donnie, the latter of whom is the smartest of the four Turtles, worked together to track the chemical signatures of the stolen compounds, which led the Titans and the Ninja Turtles to another abandoned warehouse by the docks. The Titans and the Ninja Turtles staked it out to find a small army of black-clad ninjas guarding the facility. The Turtles recognized them as The Foot Clan, meaning that their leader, The Shredder, must be behind whatever is going on. Spying through the window, the heroes found The Shredder himself, flanked by the Purple Dragons, commanding two scientists to finish their work with the compounds the Purple Dragons stole. Facial recognition scans run by Cyborg identified the scientists and Dr. Baxter Stockman and Dr. Samuel Register, two black market genetic researchers who have worked for criminal enterprises in the past. The heroes managed to stealthily defeat the Foot Soldiers guarding this building before sneaking into the area that the Shredder, the Purple Dragons, and the two scientists set up as their makeshift lab. That’s when Bebop and Rocksteady, who volunteered, stepped up to a device that was built, and the scientists used it to expose the gangsters to a chemical mixture. They mutated into different humanoid animals, a boar form for Bebop and a rhinoceros form for Rocksteady. That’s how the heroes learned that this chemical mix was a recreation of the ooze that mutated the Turtles and their father Splinter into who they are today! The Ninja Turtles and the Titans leapt into action, sure that they have to destroy the ooze and the machine before Shredder can make more mutants to serve in his army. Dr. Stockman and Dr. Register fled and hid as the heroes and villains did battle. The Titans split the attention of the Purple Dragons while the Ninja Turtles battled the Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady. Morphed into a gorilla form, Beast Boy had tossed a few of the Purple Dragon thugs into a barrel containing the chemicals, causing it to knock over spill on the two hiding scientists. Meanwhile, Shredder and his two mutant minions overpowered the Turtles, and Shredder had Leo and Raph in his grip, ready to snap their necks. Then, a hockey stick smacked into the back of Shredder’s head. It was Larry Crock. This attack from Larry did not injure the Shredder, but it did distract him long enough for Raph to stab him in the arm with his sai, leading to him and Leo kicking Shredder away as Casey Jones followed up with a baseball bat to the face. Donnie and Mikey managed to defeat Bebop and Rocksteady, and then joined their brothers in taking down Shredder. The Purple Dragons ran for their lives, and so did the two mutants, as Shredder was bested by our heroes. However, as Shredder was bleeding out and injured, Larry Crock took it upon himself to keep beating him down. The Turtles held him back, but Larry said that “he can’t get away with it, now can he?” The heroes said that Oroko Saki, which is the Shredder’s real name, will face prison, but Larry said that it’s not good enough. “He needs to be put down, along with the rest of the mangy dogs in the Purple Dragons,” Larry said, brandishing a knife. However, Casey stuck Larry in the back of his head with a golf club, knocking him unconscious. The police and Interpol arrived to arrest Oroko Saki and the defeated Purple Dragons, while the DEO (Department of Extranormal Operations) arrived to confiscate all the mutagenic chemicals. They also arrested Larry Crock for his violent vigilante campaign. However, the two doctors, along with Bebop and Rocksteady, vanished amidst the chaos. The heroes, along with Casey Jones, watched from a distance. The Ninja Turtles welcomed Casey to join them, once again, and to come find them if they ever need each other. The Titans soon enough flew back to their HQ.
Notes:
* Deviantartist dudebrah is the one who created the Ninja Turtle microheroes here, while n8navarro provided the ones for Bebop and Rocksteady.
* Larry Crock is based on Lawrence Crock, the “Sportsmaster”, a villain from the original DC Comics.
** Since they were similar, and since Lawrence Crock was first, it made sense for me to make Larry Crock a big-brother-figure to Casey Jones.
* Baxter Stockman is a Ninja Turtle villain usually mutated into a humanoid fly called “Superfly”.
