Your shots of the birds were MUCH better!
But now you know, this is what first made me pay attention to your page. I used sunflower seeds as well to make them fly to me and there's a certain magic feeling I get when a wild bird flies to my hand. I just think those moments are special.

i hear using super-glue is a great way to make animals stand where you want them to

I can't belieeeeeeeve you didn't use flash! Look at the picture it's very flat, no shadows!
And yes, the curse of electronic (auto) focus.

I am almost certain I didn't use it! I took many trial shots before being able to catch that bird and a single flash would have frightened it away for good. The birds there are not very friendly usually and even that one was very nervous.
But yea... Time hurts with camera. It hurts lots. It really makes it difficult to photograph animals of any type unless they are asleep...

It might have been dark there, but you mustn't use flash! And I also would've use (ah these past tenses or whatevers... I forgot more and more) as low sharpness (big shutter (you know, big hole in front of the ccd/film (ohh can't find technical terms in the net-dict)) as I can. And maybe a darker and more homogene background)

I don't think I did use flash. It was a difficult photo to take with my camera. That bird wouldn't stay on someone's hand for longer than half a second. I had to press the button before it landed because of the delay on my camera, so it was all down to guess work.
Plus my camera is pretty low tech. I don't have many options for sharpness.
I know the picture isn't great in itself but I am still please with it. And don't worry about the technical terms, I can understand. Thanks for the advice.
(Just as a note, it should have been 'would have used. Tenses are evil when use a different languages. I know.)

Oh, compact digit cam? I know them, they're really nasty! I feel about them so, since I got an old Nikon FG-20 (full mechanical only with electical shutter speed control and light measuring (I love it, 35mm rulez!
its fun to develop negatives, have you ever tried?))

Not yet, but I'd love to give it a try if I ever get a chance to. And I really like my camera... It's a 'lot' better than my last one! But some things about it are nasty like you say. I'd really love to have a camera like yours though!

Well, I think that's one of only two I've ever found there, so good luck!
