That is wicked! Wise choice removing the other elements. Give an awesome feel to this shot!

Yeah that is like me and the gig photography that I do. I am only just learning so everyday and every shoot I strive to get the end result just from the camera. But while I am still improving I am happy, well not happy, but prefer to get the image looking right with a little bnw coversion, a little stamping out/ level drop in the background. Until the day I am confident that the shot I got from the camera is the best shot I could possibly hae gotten.
And sometimes, even now there are a few shots from each gig that I walk away ecstatic with. These shots are the ones that I do no post work too.
(Um rambling now, I think basically I agree wth your comment. But still its an awesome shot in my eyes )

hey...we're always learning. even when we're paid pros we're learning.
hell, some of the best photographers i know say that they're always learning (i think that's why they're so good).

Love the use of negative space. It makes the image more powerful.

i love the negative space in it also. i just wish that i could've accomplished this in camera rather than manipping the elements out.
thanks.
btw, congrats on the DD.

really like this, the contrast, lighting and the feeling of isolation in the composition, good work!
