I always wonder how much is a result of the photographer's instructions, and how much is a result of the subject's personality. It's nice to know that it's the latter in this case.

I prefer that my photographs speak to something natural of the essence of that person. My favorite shots have always been the ones where the expression betrays an honesty of emotion rather than a concocted idea.

To me her body position with its subtle curve really is what draws the image together, I'd be very hesitant to crop because of that.

The expression in this is great. Even after looking across the rest of the image it draws you back to her face.
