Description Watercolour

LUGIA! One of my all time favourite PokΓ©mon, especially one of my favourite legendaries, after I watched PokΓ©mon 2000 when I was...what...five? This is a graduation gift for one of my friends who loves Lugia.
It's my first time drawing Lugia! I hope it turned out well
Title ripped off Lugia's song XD

....The Sea howled a mighty roar as the storm did not bare no more...
"Think it'll be over in the morn?"
"Lad, this is no ordinary storm... but the work of the Guardian of the Sea..."

Oh... the power...Β

Nice!! this is a very dynamic work

Question: what are those specks in the background?

Oh, those were supposed to imitate the sea spray...didn't turn out as well as I planned...

You're welcome

hm Oh I see. Honestly, I thought that was wind, not water, but looks good either way. What did you use specifically for the thick specks?Β

For the spray maybe next time you could try taking a hard bristle brush or toothbrush, dipping it in watery blue or white paint, then brushing your finger across the bristles to create this cool effectΒ

I used chunks of dried paint....they happened to be right there XD

Thanks for the suggestion! But unfortunately, watery paint tends to not show up well on wet watercolour...I should wait until it dries XD

Β

BUT THANKS SO MUCH!

Haha, thanks! Actually, once when I was trying to draw stars, I accidentally opened the lid on one of my paints, and dried paint came off and stuck to the background, and I thought: "THIS WORKS!" And I used that technique XD

No really, thanks so much for the advice~!

Haha I love good accidents...once I made this skeleton painting and I accidentally splattered a little white in the bg, but it looked good! So I just put more xD

glad to help
