Description
Continuing Lego "May-nia" month. It's the Autobot City commander, another red and blue bot that's one of my favorites. My first ever converting lego. Now the idea came to me when I thought of the feet. From there it spiraled, and before I knew it I was getting out my collection as I needed it. Since the original Generation 1 figure (seen here: www.transformers-universe.com/… ) was basically a brick you prop up to convert him, I figured I could probably do the same. I had NO IDEA what I would do for the arms and I started to have less and less pieces to work with there. I would've made it so they could swivel outward, but alas, my collection forbade it.
I basically made the same thing for the cab as the Optimus I once made. I would've completed it with more wheels, but I couldn't have it jut out too far. All in all, despite its flaws, I'd say I'm content with this design. The colors are very G1 cartoon-esque, and I nailed the chest piece.

Dude! That's awesome, excellent work on both the vehicle mode and robot modes.

Thanks! I almost hate to take it apart.

I would too. You could always keep it together, though I know how expensive parts can be.
