that's a pretty sweet collection you have there, I am really liking that SKS, are those cheaper than the yugo SKS?

If you can find them. I got mine for $200. Although the last one I saw was going for $375.

An M14 and an automatic pistol would round out the collection nicely.

Quite a gun collection. I'm going to assume that since you have a M-16 5.56 caliber rifle, you're from the American military.

Actually it's an AR-15, the civilian version of the M16.

I got a Pietta Remington; I bought it from my dad. God, I love that gun...
Is yours an original or reproduction?

I just bought an Anzio 20 mm. Vulcan anti-material rifle with suppressor, 14.5 mm. & 25 mm. conversion kit and 64 power scope. I love it, as much kick as a 50 cal. but with three times the kinetic energy. only prob is it cost me half my bank account, $15000.

You have excellent taste! I can't say it enough, I really like your taste in firearms.
I own a yugoslav SKS and I love it. Trying to find ammo for it is difficult these days though. I've turned to hand loading, but everyone is hard up for primers.
I was recently considering getting a Mosin M91/30 (especially since I'm starting to do my own loading and 7.62x54R is really jumping in price) but I think other investments are currently taking priority. I think I should really get a 12 gauge pump shotgun (I've been suggested mossberg 500 or remmington 870). I love shooting shotgun, and I don't really have a need for a bolt action rifle of that power. Sure, it is nice to have a rifle you can use to just reach out and touch a target 900 meters away, but I have more need for the home protection provided by a 12 gauge.
How does the DPMS handle? If I buy an AR soon I was looking at their NATO sportical (price is the big consideration) and I want to know what people think of the DMPS rifles.
Good taste in handguns too, revolvers have a great style to them. I know they're not as 'effective' as some autoloading fans say, but I don't care what they say.

The DPMS handles just fine, haven't had a problem with it yet even after a whole year. But then again I only use good quality ammunition with it.
As for home defense...I used to use a shotgun, but then I switched to the carbine instead. More accurate, less projectiles to worry about missing and hitting an unintended target, and less recoil so you can fire more shots if necessary.
Also, random fact. One round of 12 gauge lead ammunition weighs the same as five rounds of 55 gr. .223 Remington.

Nifty! But could use a touch of Glock, IMO...
Actually my own collection is lacking according to some...some people say that everyone should own a 1911 and a SAA-design. You've got the latter covered, but I don't own either of those...
If those sum'bitches in DC (and Raleigh to a lesser extent) would quit trying to ban "evil" guns, I might buy some "not as evil" guns at some point!

You need more. I wish I could get myself to save enough spending money to get an AR rather than spend it on cameras and other, slightly less expensive firearms.

Chinese SKS? Those have been banned from importation since 1989. You've had it that long? Or did you get it in a private sale? It doesn't count as curio&relic eligable due to the amout procduced and the size of the chinese army.

Incorrect. It doesn't count as C&R because the models that were imported were of a design that came about less than 50 years ago.

And too add have you contacted your senators about opposing holder? I have. I recccomend not bringing up guns if they are democrats but there are plenty of other good reasons besides just guns. Elian Gonzalez having a gun pointed at his head in a closet comes to mind, especially when he said it didn't happen.

Well you have until the 21rst to cantact your senators. Both of mine are Republican so I can bring up guns on top of everything else. I even wrote my congressman. Every letter helps. And if he still gets appointed it still shows that were out here.

Actually my Russian Tula didn't have cosmolene and had at least 2 owners before me, maybe more. It's from 1952 so... The last owner mever even used it as he didn't even know how to take it apart. I had to show him. I brought it home expecting a frosted bore but it is perfect. You can actually still see the lands at the very tip of the muzzle which means it wasn't used much.

So far not bad. Only run one box of ammo through it, all FMJs, but so far I haven't had a failure to cycle. Lost a few brass cases though due to the strong ejection.

Nice. I've heard that the Chinese ones are marginally more accurate than the Yugo ones.
Don't expect it to jam any time soon. My yugo hasn't yet, despite several hundred rounds through it.
