Although a rabid follower of the show at it's inception, I must shamefully admit I have not kept up. Still, it seems almost ironic to me that you're actually going looser and rougher here and yet managing to get a greater degree of subtlety, capturing not only the menace but also a certain melancholy of the character. You are so right! You should do more in this direction. I'm actually a bit surprised at how natural a fit it seems.

That's OK. The writing has gone down hill quite a bit.
As for painting style. Sometimes painting tightly to create detail can actually constrict the painting. Here I just let myself become immersed in the emotion I wanted to convey.
I prefer to paint like this for many reasons. One being I can do a painting in a night and not stare at it for days.

So it seems my wife and I aren't the only Rumple fans!! Β We're hoping,hoping, hoping for his complete redemption. Β Our whole family loves this show... it's our new Sunday night family time, and the kids (pushing 15yrs and 12yrs) wouldn't miss it. Β You did a great job mixing his two sides! Β You should do Hook, too!!

Nope. I thought he had a big fan following. I kind of like him bad, but I want him to be happy. Even if he does become happy I think he should take him self and Belle away from all the craziness.
I love the show too, although I have not been happy with the writing lately. It could be a lot better.
