Description

Intrepidus gas giant planet around comprised of a bloated atmosphere of mostly hydrogen gas. Some of its atmosphere trails behind in a cloud of interplanetary gas that is blown off by Reach due to its close proximity.

The first Arcadian colonists had few intentions of establishing settlements in the region due to the lack of natural satellites as well as the planet’s scorched atmospheric conditions. However, the large quantities of its evaporating atmosphere prompted several corporations to set up small manned and autonomous orbital mining platforms to gather these useful gases.

Eventually one such platform, the floating city of Helios Grand, gained much prominence due to its massive output of refined gasses, growing to become the major population centre and port city of Intrepidus’ colonial activity. Much of the refined gases harvested here serves to fuel the ships and stations of the Reach system as a prime component of their fusion reactors.
