Description
sorry its grainyrequest for ~j2kanime of a dragon breathing fire up at a sun. I incorporated the yin yang symbol so that the sun wouldn't be just a black dot.
this took forever to ink, I started at about 6:00 pm and finished about 11:15 pm

yeah even after all the other stuff I've drawn this is still my favorite. I was SOOO proud of the yin yang symbol when I made it cause it was all free hand.
It's also the only design that I've made that I'm aware of someone getting as a tattoo.

yeah its really annoying to draw stuff freehand, especially if they're circles or something symmetrical >.< that's why my stuff all kinda looks a bit off XP ..if not OBVIOUSLY lopsided-lookingg x_x haha

actually he got it a while ago, it was the cousin of the person that requested it. There was a link to a picture of him with it on here somewhere but I haven't been able to find it recently. He got it over his left shoulder blade.

I think what happens is people ask for a design without realizing how much a tattoo actually costs cause I've had similar stuff happen.

One of my favourites too! xD Very cool. But, like you, I'm going to critique the paw/claw. The bottom one to be specific. It seems as though it's at a very painful angle, going down and all. I'd rotate it slightly. I love the flames on the yin Yang, but the flames that the dragon is breathing I think could be a little less 'flamey'. It seems too distracting if the viewer is supposed to be looking at the YinYang. =]

yeah the claw/arm does look to be in a painful position I hadn't really noticed that.
random fact this is the largest design I have ever done the sun has a 4 inch diameter (not including the flames)
I'm thinking about selling some of my designs to a tattoo parlor near my school, not sure if I want to or not though, it will probably depend on how much money I can get out of it

It's great idea. I was thinking of doing that, but I'm a terrible salesman. Lol. I get all nervous when I want people to buy my stuff. This would probably explain my lack of money this summer. >.< the other reason is that I couldn't write a resume for the life of me.
Anyways, you probably should go to them, and see what you can get. See if you can make some sort of deal with them too.

you cant be that bad of a sales person, I would make a horrible sales person I'm very introverted, and quiet, and don't like talking to people. You are very extraverted (I think anyways) that alone makes it easier for you, and as for the writing part I hate writing anything longer than a paragraph it makes my head spin, you could sell some of your designs I suppose. Have you had anymore commissions?

Oh yes. Very bad. Lol. I can talk to people fine, but it seems that when my mom raised me, she raised me to feel guilty about /everything/. So, I feel bad selling stuff to people. It's really kind of twisted. Lol. I've tried getting over it, but simply can't. There was a fair at my highschool this may and I set up a table to sell some of my small watercolours and everytime someone came to my table I looked in another direction and pretended they weren't there! >.< I'm lucky I had Kevin with me.
Commissions, no. Just the ones I had to begin with, which I haven't gotten to work on because the guy who wants them really pissed me off. >=\ It was impossible to get in touch with him, and then he told me he didn't want an 8 foot by 6 foot painting, but just a drawing to blow up to that size. Ofcourse he told me this after I had bought all the paints for it. Lots of money down the drain. At least I have a never ending supply of acrylics. Lol.
But I strongly encourage you to try and sell them. It's incredibly exciting.

if he blows up a drawing to that size its going to be really blurry

Well, It was a really big painting and I was charging him for the materials, so maybe a few hundred., ofcourse it won't be the same now though, since it's just a drawing. >.< I was really depending on that though, now I'm really stuggling financially to get my apartment.

What you should have done was told him that you had already bought the materials and you were still going to charge him for them.
just thought of something about your salesmanship, you could send a representative in your place or have someone go with you if you try to sell some of your designs
also in the future if you get anymore large commissions you should charge part of the money up front to make sure that the person doesn't back out

Charge a flat rate, then charge by the hour. That's how I usually do it. It's so hard coming up with a price. >.<

I went to caspians (the tat place) today, but the owner wasn't there (sick), so the person said to come back later. the owner is normally there on tuesdays so I'll go back next tuesday, but the person there said he probably wouldn't be interested

Geh. My days have been sucking. I'm struggling to get into the apartment I've finally found. I had to take a train home and I had to spend 60 bucks on that because I left all my ID at my dads. I was so ticked about that. Lol. I should be getting student fare, but I don't have an ISIC card, so I've been getting t he youth fare, but the guy didn't believe that I was under 25, which I obviously am, so he charged me full price.

you... look older than 25. The guy must be blind or something, you really don't look any older than 20 at most.
youth fare is for anyone younger than 25? most places in the U.S. up everything at the age of 12

oh yeah well I've never broken a bone, and I got the stitches out last friday having them taken out hurt worse than getting them put in (not too bad though)

thanks I like it a lot too, at first I had done the flames differently on the sun but I didn't like the way they looked so I altered them slightly. If you want to see what they looked like before I put the sketch in my scraps
