Description

               Sonya ducked though the door to the lobby of the headquarters building of Orion Cooperation.   She was happy the lobby had tall enough ceilings to just about accommodate her natural size with the heels she was wearing causing her to only duck a little. She could feel everyone's eyes on her as she walked up the reception desk. The woman at the desk quickly stood up, "Ms. Blade, uh what brings you to Orion Corporation today?"

               Sonya smiled, "I'm here to see Mr. Higuara about a job. I have an appointment."

               The receptionist nodded trying not to look intimidated by the muscular amazon in front of her. "I'll check."

               Sonya tried not to chuckle as the receptionist quickly accessed her computer. "Ah yes he's expecting you. Take the elevator right next to you, it will take you up to his office."

               The elevator doors opened with a ding and Sonya nodded to the receptionist. "Thank you."

               Sonya ducked into the elevator and the doors closed behind her. She turned around to face the opening as the elevator began to rise and the muzak began to play. After a minute or so the elevator stopped and Sonya stepped out into the large meeting room. The president and CEO of Orion Corporation sat at the head of the table. He gestured to one of the seats closer to him, "Good to see you again Sonya, have a seat. So you're looking for a job?"

               Sonya sighed as she gracefully sat down in one of the closer seats brushing a hand though her short hair, "Yeah, I told the NPA to cut off my stipend because it's needed for other more critical things and I can't get anything from the UFAP as their still working though the whole double agent then becoming Empress thing as to whether or not I get anything from them."

               Higuara picked up a data pad, "You know I'm still paying your husband while he's serving?"

               Sonya nodded, "I do, but our expenses have increased...the insurance I have to have alone almost sucks up his Captain's salary and what you're paying him."

               Higuara nodded, "What about returning to the Vermont State Troopers?"

               Sonya gave him a look, "Do you think they would actually take me back? I mean there was enough hesitation when everyone thought I was just an enhanced human."

               Higuara smiled, "You would be surprised. However, you probably wouldn't get paid nearly enough."

               Sonya nodded again, "So you have my resume and I've worked for you before."

               Higuara nodded, "This is all a formality I assure you."

               Sonya gave a sigh of relief, "That's good to hear."

               "So let's discuss your duties and the pay...."

I would think one of the big downsides of being a known powerhouse and VIP would be the insurance premiums because you're a big target and your enemies are going to use a lot of firepower to try and take you out.
