Those pesky space pirates have been messing around with hazardous new chemicals to use for their evil gains, Samus seems to have stumbled upon them, and has been blimpified into a huge squishy floating balloon!It seems Metroids still have a thing for glomping Samus...but also a thing for inflation! Look out Samus, balloons pop easily! and those Metroid fangs sure are sharp...
I'm quite proud of this picture, drawing a nice big inflatable Samus over Crateria sure was nostalgic

All she needs to do once she gets down is reverse-engineer the chemical into a safer form, and those tricky jumps will be a thing of the past. Sequence-break everything!

Seeing this gave me the thought that for a new Metroid game they could make a suit upgrade called Float Suit that can inflate to make Samus float around... You could even shoot from the heights!
