Spero leaned on the door sill, stared out in front of the house towards the woods. It's been hours sense Traumer left and it is now dark. She was starting to get worried.
She stepped on the porch, the wood creaked under her weight. She walked down the steps as she used magic to light a fire in the palm of her hand. She breathed and a small mist appears from it. She glances at the fire, making sure that it is still lit. The fire wavered in the wind.
She took a step in the cold, wet snow. A small shiver went up her spine once her foot touched it.
She looked up at the bare trees. Their branches bobbed up and down in the wind. She stared in the darkness. The looming shadows made it look darker.
Spero took a sharp inhale. Her heart raced when a memory came to mind. The memory when she was a Wyngling and got lost in the forest and ended up in Antova. What if that happened to Traumer? All Spero could do is hope she was ok.
Spero heard chatter in the house and turned around. The kids were up and about. She took one last glance at the woods, then walked back to the house. She closed the door, eliminating the light from reaching outside.
