I'm definitely using this. XD I use Windows and a Mac, but I think Macs are way better and faster, personally. (;

hahahaha it's so true. sometimes i feel a bit evangelical, preaching the "good news" of the Mac to my windows friends, who are all pretty much like "whatever". and then i get sad
but i go play with my Mac and i feel better!

Haha. I've pretty much successfully converted most of my friends. It's so easy, because Macs are just so much objectively better. XD And now Macs can run Windows, my friends have lost the one excuse they used to always cite: Windows can run more software (games particularly). Not that you'd want to run Windows, but hey.
When converting, I always tried to make sure my advice was more-or-less objective. In the times before Macs switched to Intel, I was careful to tell people that if they really did want to game, they should go for PC. Even today, I tell them that if gaming is their main concern, I'm not sure which computer has the best specs so they should do more research. However, recently a friend of mine (who was always a PC guy) IMed me saying that the new Macbook Pros have finally been perfected (they have really good graphics cards now), and he bought one.

I might have to switch to a macbook pro then, instead of my macbook. that's always the hardest sell for me, the lack of gaming capability; i've felt like a hypocrite for so long, screaming "macmacmac" and then going home and turning on my pc desktop
It was the worst last summer, when all of my friends and i were graduating and going off to college, and they were all buying laptops; i only got 2 people in my whole group of friends to convert and it's because all my other friends needed a gameable platform.
that and Mac games suck. there's only one game i've ever found to be really quite good for mac, its called Sauerbraten. Have you heard of it? it's a first-person shooter, and there is singleplayer mode and multiplayer through the use of servers. the best part is that you can edit the game as you play it, edit levels and everything. and it's free
whoosh.

If you already have a Macbook, no need to switch to the Pro, I'd say. (Unless you're finding the Macbook just isn't fast enough for the things you want to do. But I'd imagine it should be fine for most things.)
I haven't heard of that game, but it sounds cool. There have been some good games that are on the Mac. Like Warcraft 3. And... uh... World of Warcraft. And... The Sims 2? >_>; But anyway, we need not worry about that anymore, because Macs can run Windows! ^_^ *dances around*
Incidentally, what's your favourite gaming console? :3

erm, that's a toughy. i'm kinda a bastard, cos i adore nintendo, but i love a lot of ps2 games. and i could not LIVE without my DS, but...DDR! it's hard.
i LOVE the sims 2. though i play it wrong - i set up fantastic family situations utilizing cheats and then stop cheating and systematically destroy the home.
i'm pretty sure that's weird.

Nah, I think that's pretty standard with The Sims. XD I remember a good strategy for the first game was to set up a single-family home, marry other sims, kill them and take their money.
I agree with the adoring Nintendo but loving a lot of PS2 games. I'm a Nintendo fan, but I do have a PS2 (and I'm planning to get the new PSP that's coming out, mostly for this one game that I really want).

what game do you want? the best PSP game i've played is GTA (Vice city, i think). SO much fun.

Monster Hunter Freedom 2. ^^
(I've played Monster Hunter 2 in Japanese on the PS2, and it's a better game, but awkward to get and.. in Japanese only.)

I've never heard of it...(here comes a dumb question that you'll want to smack me for)...is it related to the Monster Rancher series? XP

Nah, understandable mistake.
It was very popular in Japan, but for some reason we just didn't take to it here in the West. They released Monster Hunter 1 for the PS2 here, but it wasn't popular enough for them to translate Monster Hunter 2 from Japanese, so they never did. Now they're releasing Monster Hunter Freedom 2, which is basically Monster Hunter 2 but stripped down a bit and for the PSP.
It strangely got bad reviews on various sites, but it's actually a really good game. The basic gist of it is that you go and... hunt monsters. There are no levels or anything like that -- it's more skill-based -- but you can get better weapons and armour. What I like about it is that it slowly introduces you to harder and harder things to kill, and you actually get more *skill* at fighting. I like skill-based games. ^_^
So yeah, you basically go and kill various monsters, skin them and use the skin/bones/whatever to make weapons and armour to kill bigger monsters, and repeat.
