Friendship

Four friends are lost, three friends are gained.
To sadness and loss, my soul is well trained.

My old boyfriend hates me, my old best friend too,
but I made some new friends, that much is true.

My old buddy John, and billy, my bitch,
I miss them so much, especially my bitch.

Soon, I meet Brittany, that crazy young girl.
She’s so kind to me, it makes my head whirl!

After a full year of insults, put-downs and pain,
I’m really pretty scared of making friends again.

Then my Ex gets nicer, just like the old days,
he’s returned to his goofy and flirtatious ways.

John stops to talk if I see him on the street,
and then Billy calls, oh wow! what a treat!

I look back on last year, and compare it to now.
Losing Trish hurt, but I’m better off anyhow!

I wrote this poem to honor my friends.
I hope our friendship never ends.
