We we have a lot in common, as I'm a V-dub fan too.  I would love to have a 23 window ragtop bus!!!  I built a bus model many years ago but it was a panel bus so I cut windows and a ragtop in it.  I'll have to share pics of it with you, as I still have it!!!

Killer double cab!!!

Thanks a lot. For more than 10 years, I used to drive a 66 Westy (11 windows only!) as a daily, and it was really, really cool!

Oh yes, I'd really like to see your bus model (Hasegawa, Revell... or something else?)

I've found an old Revell 23 windows some years ago, in a swap meet. It is not in very good shape, but I like it, even the art box is awesome!

You're very welcome!!!  I was lucky enough to find two unbuilt 23 window Revell kits t swap meets.  I know I probably over paid but I had to have them.  Revell ruined the mold by turning it into that Rubber Duck version in the 70's when they filled all the windows, the ragtop and radiused the rear wheel wells!!!

Yes, you're right. I've got the "California Roller" version, and it's a shame to see how Revell distroyed its model.

I've also got the "Peace Van", a kind of caricature à la Ed Roth, and this one is really cool.

That's right the Rubber Duck was a model diesel truck!  LOL  California Roller is right.  I just remember it being yellow on the box art with big CB antennas.  Just shameful!!!

Non, no, you were right. The yellow version with 2 surfboards was named "Rubber Duck". I've got the green one (California Roller), wich is basically the same horror!!!

Is there was a connection between the movie "Convoy" and this model kit? I don't think so, because the Movie is from 78, and the kit from 76.

No there isn't a connection I thought I remembered there being a duck in the decals for the bus, but the Rubber Duck name was not associated with the bus, just the movie "convoy" and the diesel model.  Got confused since all that stuff was from the 70's!
