Interestingly, the idea that werewolves were invulnerable to everything (rapid regeneration) except silver didn't really come about until 1941's The Wolf Man. Before that, the only account or even MENTION of silver was in France, the Beast of Gevaudan. BTW, the Mythbusters determined that silver bullets/slugs will only penetrate 33% the distance into the human body that regular bullets will.Related content
