Personality:  She's an introverted and shy girl, with problems to relate to others. She' s sweet, kind and innocent, but she lacks a lot of confidence in herself.
Due to her physical appearance, not many people approach her, and when they do, she becomes very excited and blindly trusts them. For that reason many people take advantage of her generosity. It's manipulable, submissive, somewhat paranoid and easy to cry because it can't stand being under pressure.
Beneath that insecurity lies a brilliant mind. She's a genius capable of taking advantage of her abilities and those of others, although she isn't interested in competing or fighting.

Background: Kaede doesn't know anything about her biological parents so her childhood was spent in an orphanage in Canada. She saw, over the years, how they wanted other children and never at her. She always believed that it was because couples wanted babies or children smaller than her but it was really because of her appearance. At the age of eight, a couple formed by a pharmacologist and a translator became interested in the girl and gave her the family she so desired. In Mustufatu, Japan.
Since childhood Kaede showed extraordinary academic skills, being considered a genius.
Mamoru, one of her parents, seeing her daughter's abilities wanted to encourage them as much as possible so that in the future her daughter would become a famous and prestigious scientist. However, this support ended up becoming an increasing pressure that caused them to develop a great insecurity and fear of failure. Not only that, but it also prevented her from following the path he wanted: be a hero. For that submissive attitude she was never able to say anything to her authoritarian father what she really wanted.

One day, when she returned from class, she witnessed a small robbery. At first the fear seized her and she hid with the idea of calling the police. When she heard the scream of the docked girl, she reacted. Climbed one of the facades of the building and took advantage of that appearance that always scared others. Taking advantage of the poor visibility of the alley, she slipped through her web and frightened the thief.
The girl thanked her for her help and, with that feeling of pride and security that she decided face her father and explain the truth.
At first her father was angry with her and said she could not do it, but when Kaede did the entrance exam to the U.A. and she approved Mamoru regreted of his words and felt very proud of her.

She met Ango thanks to Takara. At first, she barely was capable to talk with him because she finds him handsome and stunning but step by step and with help of the girls she opens a little more. In fact, they get along very well when she discover what both doesn't have confidence in themself and try to fix that together. Kaede finally sees him as a big brother.

She' s very fond of her, because she always behaves very well with her and, like Takara and Rui, supports and encourages her. Because Kaede doesn't like Monoma because he tends to mess with her because of her friendship with "the enemy," she feels protected whenever Kendou defends her.

Kaede doesn't hate Bakugo but find him absolutly terrifing, even more after see him in the Sports Festival. She feels uncomfortable when he's around and try to avoid him or, at least, stay away from him. However, when Rui is around she feels more calm because she knows they get along well or at least she try it. The opposite happens when Takara is near. They hate each other and in any moment they can starts a fight. Despite this, Kaede thinks Bakugo have a lot of talent.

Sero caught Kaede's attention at the Sports Festival due his quirk thinking it's similar to her spider web and makes her feel more comfortable with herself. Kaede and Sero was interned under same agency there and where both meet each other for first time. They spends time together, and when intership finished, they swap their phone numbers and starts to speaks a lot by messages. On the Training Camp, Kaede starts to develpment a crush to him. After this, both continues talk each other in the school and the dorms when she goes to visit Rui.

Sero thinks she's a very sweet girl and, even they don't have a lot of things in common at the moment, he likes to having her around because, he literally says what she "have a peace atmosphere around her which give him feel good"
Kaede won't recognize it, but her first thought about Sero was she found him cute.

She is habituate to retract and extract the spider's legs of her back since was young even if it's painful because she feels insecured by her apparence. The most excruciating pain she ever felt was when, after a dog bited her hand when she was younger, was capable to amputates herself one finger because she knew can regenerate.

Able to eject organic web by her fingers. This web can stretch up to a maximum of 30 meters. It's extremely hard.
Immunity to poisons except to insecticides.

Ability to perceive vibrations and sound in a range of 10 meters maximum.
Poison segregation.
Regeneration of body parts as long as it retains at least a piece of the previous member. She can amputate them at will.
