Description I just thought about it po is the dragon warrior and that means everyone in the valley of peace should know him including peng that also means that peng should have known what happened to his uncle off the bat so to make a long story short this is probably what peng thought when he met shifu you know the guy who trainers po to kill tai lung.....it's all shifu's fault

If there could a unique Kung Fu Panda comic series that's LOOSELY based off of the Legends of Awesomeness series, then have I got something different for everybody on Peng! In this comic series which I call "The Legend of the Kung Fu Panda", despite Peng referring to Tai Lung as his uncle, he wouldn't be his Biological Uncle here! Rather, that Tai Lung at a time knew Peng's Father and they grew into brothers! Peng wasn't born back then so anything Dragon Warrior related of course he wouldn't really know! He just heard that whom he considered his uncle was a killer fighter! But when word spread about what Tai Lung did, Peng's folks were too heartbroken to tell Peng! Peng heard about Tai Lung from a FEW neighbors that weren't really supposed to mention him around there! As time went by, Peng kept wanting to know what his uncle was like. And every time, Peng's parents stayed silent. When Peng turn 13?, he decided to set off in the world with his pottery skills and learn the truth about his uncle to which Peng was all: "I'm going off in the world whether you allow it or not!" Peng's parents had to watch him leave them and Peng's Mother wanted to spill the beans to which her husband told her: "No. We can't hide the awful truth from Peng forever anymore than we can keep sheltering him. Sooner or later, he WILL find out the truth. And when he does, HOW he will take it will be of his choice. All we can do is trust that he can overcome the shame." Maybe that IS a stretch, but that was the best I could come up with!

So yeah, Peng's reason for wanting to find his uncle in this comic series is because he never really knew Tai Lung back then and wants to try and get to know him all while he makes a living on his family business! But a major difference from the show in this series is....Peng actually joins the Furious Five! He's not automatically made into a Master obviously but is taken in as an Apprentice Warrior! And they don't rename the Furious Five but sometimes get referred to as "The Furious Five plus one"! And Peng's tenure as an Apprentice Warrior is NOT permanent as he resumes his personal quest during the Peace Jubilee! (The Kung Fu Kid gets split into 2 issues that would be like bookends with each other!) But during his stay in the Valley of Peace, Peng gets to go on a couple adventures with our heroes & even becomes buddies with Mr Ping! However, when Peng DOES make his return, unlike Master and the Panda, Peng has a much sadder sendoff.....
