There are, unfortunately, still authoritarian apologists on the Left, and they can be a bit...unhinged.Related content

I would ask you not to buy in the anti Venezuelan being spread but I get the feeling that's too much to ask.

Wow, for a second I thought that guy had a bunch of tentacles sticking out of his mouth like some kind of Xenomorph from the alien movies.
In all seriousness though, you make a fair point.

Somebody call David Cronenberg; I see a promising body horror satire artist here!
But seriously, good work with drawing the disturbing, anatomically impossible imagery of fitting several booted feet in a person's mouth, hideously torn jaw and all. I actually winced when I clicked on the preview.
For most of my life, I've been sympathetic to leftism before becoming a full-blown supporter and advocate of leftist goals/praxis, steadily but definitely more so as I got older.
...But as I started out at age 16, it disgusted me to see so much apologia/white-washing or outright support of authoritarianism in the ostensible name of communism as I researched. I also found it confusing and hypocritical as I saw people who claimed to hate authoritarianism and imperialism express support of regimes like China, North Korea, the USSR, etc.; then it infuriated me as they hand-waved any criticisms or said the latter were lies.
Sorry I had to keep this comment brief. It's 2AM here.

Yeah, it's a creepy phenomenon. As much as I'd like to just dismiss it all as edgy contrarian trolling (and some of it probably is), I suspect there might be something darker going on; people gravitating towards symbols of "strength" and "power" when times are hard, similar to what we see with fascism. That's not horseshoe theory, it's just psychology, but it's something we have to be aware of if we want to avoid falling for it.
Glad you liked the cartoon though!

That's a terrible joke and I'm kicking myself for not thinking of it first.
