good question: hope's is stupid and barely uses it anyway cuz we all are too lazy to update his other roles' levels and use his magical roles instead. vanille's is cooler but slower and ineffective as well. .....and dammit, i love this comic. go fang! poor lightning, lolololol. ...chocobo....lol

Hope's weapon is definitely dumber. At least Vanille's weapon is actually useful. I mean, Hope uses a boomerang? I can't imagine that being useful fighting enemies....... And he just sticks it straight up his ass after a battle O.o

As for your question, I gotta say Hope's. Vanille is pretty useful with her .....err... weapon. Hope's pocket is more useful than his weapon, can fit the whole thing in. O_o

Personally, I like Vanille's weapon. It's really unique...at first I was like "WTF. How do antlers mounted on a bent stick make any sense as a weapon?" Then she used it and I thought it was cool. You'd have to be reeeeaaallly careful while fighting with it so as to NOT catch yourself with those nasty hooks! She must have developed a lot of control for it to be her primary weapon. It seems to be more of a tribal hunting weapon too, which I thought was awesome.
God. Hope. I love you. But that boomerang just doesn't do it for me. I thought it suited him when he was first introduced...then as he developed more as a character I was like "When's he going to ditch that toy and buy a sword?" When Light gave him her knife I was like "YEAH, BITCHES IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!"...fully anticipating a weapon switch...BUT NO.
On that note, it doesn't make any sense to me. He spent all that time with Lightning SUPPOSEDLY training, but the game never really shows his skills as a novice combatant develop or grow. Surely Lightning taught him enough so that he knows what to do in melee combat. It was part of the plot! =/ Didn't she give him the knife so that he could protect himself more efficiently in the first place???

Yes, yes exactly! How much more awesome would Hope be if he had a throwing knife to go crazy with instead? It would have been nice to see more of Hope using the skills he's learned from Light to use.
I dunno, maybe he was just spending too much time doing HEALZ to switch weapons.

Throwing knives would be badass! I was thinking more along the lines of using the knife for more agile, close-range attacks, but now I can see both.

Of course it is hopes weapon that is the dumber one. I mean, stop and think about it a moment. Every character in the game has some kind of sheath or holster for their weapons after a fight is done. But what about Hope? He just slides his right back in his butt.

I had finished a fight and the camera was angled behind Hope, and when he went to put his boomerang away, it went straight into his bum.
