Description 20/06/12 EDIT: Changed texture and feathers
The first passive Nether dweller of all. The phoenix
Bassically when I had this idea I thought of dragon like birds but then thought that theres no passive mobs in the Nether and changed the design to a flame resistant chickens. Please tell me how to improve if I need to.

Phoenix
Mob Type: Passive
Health Points: 20
Attack Damage: ---
Spawn: The Nether
Drops: Phoenix Ash* 1, Phoenix Feathers* 0-2
Experience: 4
Phoenixs are the Nethers cute little birds. Unlike most birds they dont drop meat, and cant die in lava and fire. They spawn in Nether castles in groups of 20 but will sometimes spawn in other parts of the nether.
*Phoenix ash is what phoenixs drop when killed, but not as a item. the ash will take 2 minecraft days to hatch into a phoenix chick. You can mine the ash and place it where ever you want or use it in potions. It can also be used to smelt things, with ten times the efficency of coal.
**Phoenix feathers are like chicken feathers but orange with a yellow tip and can be used to make flame arrows.

They should be fire resistant and if you just leave the ash when they're killed once the ash despawns the pheonix would come back...

It should not be more efficient than coal, because then you would only need 1 piece for a full stack of 64(that's lava's job). I still like it though.
- How did you make the orange bullets?

The thing that was used as fuel. I think it was the ash?

RedPanda7 In reply to zicrix [2012-07-02 13:16:24 +0000 UTC]

It can be used as fuel, yes

If Phoenix ash is like an egg, wouldn't you be killing phoenixes?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RedPanda7 In reply to zicrix [2012-07-03 07:39:21 +0000 UTC]

You have to kill the phoenix in the first place to get the ash

zicrix In reply to RedPanda7 [2012-07-03 19:31:14 +0000 UTC]

Yeah but you said that it would "hatch" into a new phoenix, so it's like killing a baby.

RedPanda7 In reply to zicrix [2012-07-04 19:04:20 +0000 UTC]

Well, eggs are used to make cakes so when you eat a cake it's like eating a baby as well

i think it should be bigger.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Dadalos In reply to Commander-Boo [2012-04-09 06:58:40 +0000 UTC]

i agree needs to be bigger. though the thought of fire proof chickens brings tears of laughter to my eyes XD. and finally a legitimate reason for me to go to the dmn nether.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

RedPanda7 In reply to Commander-Boo [2012-04-08 15:54:23 +0000 UTC]

It's basically a fire proof chicken, so no it will not be bigger

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Commander-Boo In reply to RedPanda7 [2012-04-09 19:49:51 +0000 UTC]

IF it was, then it could be a boss like the enderdragon. and will catch you on fire if it hits you.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RedPanda7 In reply to Commander-Boo [2012-04-09 19:56:09 +0000 UTC]

Yes it would, and that is a good idea, but as I've said it is literally a fire proof chicken

Great Work!
but the idea of making it a passive mob... ahh.. I can say than it didn't pease me (The mob idea is yours I'm not saying to change it plz )
In my opinion you could put it as a neutral mob, like the wolves or something similar.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RedPanda7 In reply to dracomancer-gui [2012-01-26 16:00:22 +0000 UTC]

Thank you
To be honest, I wasnt sure about making it passive at first either but then I thought about the fact that they're seen as a helpful creature
also, there are enough dangerous things in the nether
