Theme: Beginnings and Endings
And well this is also a illustration of our Story of: The Beauty and the Bat (german only)
I know some of you will be confused cause i already drew a picture where Severus is alive.... But well we won´t reveal how he survived ...
Let me just say, that even Emily is thinking at first that he died when Remus came to get her back to the others from Severus´ stately home of the Prince. And well the news Lupin have to tell her aren´t what she hoped and expected...
Also not for what Severus exactly gave his life... ;_;****************************
I just can tell you that it was very very hard to draw Severus dying!! ;____________; I haven´t seen the last movie til yet, just screenshots ect and i already cried.... So i did here...
Also i know i can´t draw a doe...^^"" But well i don´t like his patronus anyway...-.-

I noticed that some of you mean that the title is calling something about Mrs. Potter or that it would be Tonks in Remus arms, but it isn´t. The woman is my OC and the phrase (actually saying/thinking by Severus) is also meant for Emily´s safety during the war.

Oh, all the Snily-ish love! :hearts: I very much like the shapes in the background. And, apart from what you say yourself, I think you've done a very good job on the doe - the colour and light are gorgeous! It almost looks as if you have drawn the patronus with as much heart-wrenching love as Severus needs to feel towards Lily in order to cast the spell.

Well thank i´m glad you like it, but in the illustration Severus don´t love the lil **** anymore like he did before cause we changed the story-line in here for our RPG. So its not these boring Snily-ish love, i´m sry.

Well, may I explain this point...
When and I started the RPG we didn't wanted to change the whole storyline as it was in the books. It should be more like that it happened but wasn't mentioned in the books (ok in the very end of Deathly Hollows we changed some facts *cough* For example that not only Severus will survive but also Tonks and Remus...) For me it was clear that I wouldn't change his patronus form, because Harry can see it in his memories.
My explanation for this point is, that theoretical the patronus changes and depends on the person you love or who is the most important for you. As we know it seem to depend either of the animagus or patronus form of the beloved person and probably it never turns into a human form. But Emily as a Muggle can't cast a patronus charm nor can she transform herself. So I would say it would remain as a doe cause Lily would be still the second important person in his life.

well, might there not be an animal form which Severus associates with Emily? 'cause I for myself would find it more logical than Severus sticking to the doe-shape of his animagus. but it maybe depends on how complex Emily as an OC is...

what I meant by that is that I don't know your RPG and know Emily only from your artwork. physically, she pretty much resembles Lily, which is, to be honest, the reason for my liking your art. and since I've just learned that, in your RPG, you tried to change only little of the canon-ish conditions the thought struck me that Emily might be nothing else than your version of Severus' only true love. meaning that she actually might be your version of Lily herself, only without her supposed flaws. that would have explained the non-changing doe-shape of Severus' patronus in another way.

Erstens frag ich mich warum du nicht deutsch mit uns schreibst wenn in deinem Profil steht das du in DE lebst.
Zweitens muss ich sagen das es zwar jedem selbst überlassen ist, ich aber nicht wollte dasman Emily einfach nur als Lily-resatz sieht! Einfach weil sie das nicht ist! Und nur aufgrund eines nicht geändreten Patronuses heißt es noch lange nicht das wir sie einfach nur als seine große Liebe zu Lily ersetzten. Das RPG bzw die FF läßt sich auch im ersten Chapter hier wiedre finden. Somit besteht die Möglichkeit sich im Details mit der Hintergrundgeschichte meiner Bilder zu befassen.
Und um ehrlich zu sein sollte man das auch bevor man über etwas urteilt m.E nach. :/
Zudem Emily sich lieber erschießen würde als einfach nur ein billiger Abklatsch von solch einer Schlange wie Lily zu sein.
Und wie meine Freundin und ich bereits erklärt hatte, ist Emily ein Muggel und somit der Magie überhaupt nicht mächtig. Woran soll sich Severus dann orientieren? Einfach zu sagen ja es ändert sich in einen Fuchs wäre und wra uns zu plump. Auch weil ja auch wie bereits erwähnt wurde, Harry die Hirschkuh brauch um das Schwert zu finden... Änderungen in einer Story sind in ordnung solange sie logisch in einer gewissen Wise bleiben und nicht den gesamten Plot dermaßen auf den Kopf stellen, das man sich nachher mehr arbeit macht als es eh schon ist.
Swei mir daher nicht böse, aber wenn du Emily und somit die Bilder nur magst weil du darin ein Lily-Abklatsch siehst sollte man sich überlegen es weiter zu verfolgen. :S Weil es mir ganz und gar nicht gefällt wie gesagt das nur weil Emily rote Haare hat sie damit nichts als eine Kopie wird/ist! Das ist ziemlich klischéehaft! Bzw wie ich ebenfalls schon sagte, hat es in der Story alles durchaus Sinn.
Und auch wie meine Freundin scheieb.. ändert sich sein Patronus dann wenn er seine Kinder bekommt. Aber das wäre zudem auch erst dann wenn der Krieg überstanden ist.

To answer your question: Since I generally indulge in reading comments made on artwork that I like and since I am, therefore, always disappointed when comments are given in a language which I am unable to understand, I decided to always comment in English here on DA. Thus, people who don't understand German but would like to know what's going on can catch up on other people's thoughts and maybe share their own opinion on the respective matter.
To reply on your explanations: I can understand your point of view and I personally consider it a good thing that, in your RPG, you try to follow the canon story as far as possible and to not alter facts where it can be avoided. However, I don't think it is necessary for me to read the story you created in order to enjoy your artwork. Of course, you're right saying that I can't judge your art in the context of your RPG-story as long as I haven't read the story. But admiring your artwork doesn't nessecarily require background information. And admiring it I do, albeit for my own reasons.
You might not like it, but I guess as long as you upload your art here on DA for anyone and everyone to see, there might always be people like me who admire your drawings not because they know anything about your OC, but because they are fond of the idea that Severus be happy with Lily. You won't be able to prevent that, unless you decide to not share any more drawings here on DA that show Severus with Emily. And that would be really sad, imo, because some of my most favoured Snily-related (presumably!) pieces of art have been drawn by none other than yourself.

Naja ok, jedem das seine ob er englisch schreibt oder nicht. Ich zumindest schreibe in den Sprachen die wenn besser sind und da du auch aus DE bist halte ich es für mich eben für besser. So schreibe ich auch in fraanzösisch oder english, jeweils bezogen auf der Person mit ichmich unterhalte. Und ich denke nicht das andere "immer" mitlesen müssen was man bespricht. Ich sehe da nichts schlimmes dran und für alle Fälle kann man ja auch immer noch fragen. Zumal sie zb bei unserem Gesprächen nun eh nur die Hälfte verstehen erübrigt sich das ganze eh.
Und danke für dein Verständnis. Ja, eben ich denke eine schon vorgegebene Welt so auf den Kopf zu stellen das es einem in jeder Hinsicht passt ist nicht Sinn der Sache.
Hmm und naja vllt empfindest du es nicht für nötig die Story zu lesen, klar, es ist auch jedem in dem Fall selbst überlassen, aber es hilft wenn sehr für gewisse Verständnisse... Zumindest sehe ich das so.
Und zu dem Punkt Severus und glücklich sein... mit Lily.
Wie gesagt Emily ist nicht Lily.. und wenn die Leute nicht fähig sind Beschreibungen zu lesen, ist es nicht mein Problem. Vor allem weilich dem müde werde mich stäöndig zu wiederholen und das geh mir ehrlich gesagt an die Nerven... :S -.-

Ich mein wie gesagt ich kann dir nichts vorschreiben und sicher bist und wirst du nicht die Einzige sein die sich das leider denkt, aber wie gesagt ich bin leider alles andere als davon begeistert, was sich denk ich auch nachvollziehen läßt. Ich mein wie gesagt hätte Emily zb eine andere Haarfarbe würde das nicht passieren und es ist irgendwie schon traurig das nur weil sie rot sind (und dabei haben die beidebn damen noch nich einmal die selbe) gleich immer auf das in meinen Augen Miststück verwiesen wird...>.>
Wie gesagt der Grund warum Emily (mit den roten Haaren) in der Story zum Einsatz, eben zb auch weil sie ebenfalls rote Haare hat, war für uns ein interessanter Punkt, in dem - was wäre wenn- Prinzip. Was wäre wenn man Severus auf eine Person treffen läßt die völlig anders ist als Lily und für ihn doch zu Beginn so ähnlich scheint da sie Erinnerungen weckt... ect ect ect...

sounds like a logical beginning for some such story, bringing back memories. though, of course, it bears the risk that not only Severus has the memories of Lily brought back to him, but other people, including myself, have as well.

Naja es ist ok wenn du mit OCs ect. nichts anfangen kannst, aber seh es doch mal so. Du willst nicht das es andere Charas dort gibt als die Canon und wenn es Bilder zu Severus und Miss Evans gibt oder ihn mit Hermine ect. die dann mit OC ect bestückt werden. Ich möchte nicht das man meinen OC mit dieser ***** vergleicht. Es ist halt nichts daran zu rütteln das es nicht wer anders sein wird. Ich denke mir auch nicht bei Bildern mit ihm und Madame es könnte Emily sein. Es ist was es ist und es wäre unfair dem Zeichner gegebenüber sich das Bild so zu drehen nur damit es für mich besser pasts. Ich lasse die die Lily Zeichner ja auch und denke mir nich Emily rein nur weil ich Evans nicht leiden kann, nur damit es besser in mein Weltbild passt, verstehste. In dem Fall seh ich das leider sehr eisern. Daher ist es zwra nett das du ehrlich bist und mir das sagst, aber ganz ehrlich bin ich alles andere als begeistert davon. Emily ist und wird immer Emily bleiben! Ob es dir gefällt oder nicht ist out of my business. :/ Und ich werde niemals auch nur im Ansatz je ein Bild malen was diese Verräterin auch noch unterstützt!(abgesehen davon das Emily mit ihrer Frisur völlig anders aussueht als es Lily tat und auch in der Kleiderwahl ect ect aber ich schweife wieder ab.. aber so etwas regt einen Zeichner dann doch auf sry)

nah, don't get all frustrated about it. life is hard on everyone who goes against the tide. you just have to be strong and keep on putting up with it as you've done very well so far. if people are ignorant of your OC, either because they don't know better or because they don't want to know better or because they actually know better but continue being ignorant all the same, then you have to spread the word and spread the love for Emily. who knows, maybe time is on your side and maybe once there will dawn a day that people start forgetting about Lily, stop seeing that red-haired woman in Severus' arms thinking "Whooo, Snily, gorgeous!" and come to the conclusion that it would be so much better to read your RPG-story where everything will turn out in Severus' favour - being alive, healthy, loved by a flawless woman and proud father of (how many?) admirable children - instead of dealing with the brilliantly constructed but, in Severus' case, highly unfair canon. who knows?

actually, I just wanted to calm you down a bit because you seemed so frustrated. we still agree on wanting to see Severus happy, don't we? I wish him all the happiness in the world after what he had to endure during life - and in these words there lies no irony, nor sarcasm, only deep sadness over an unfulfilled life and unnecessary death of a beloved, if only fictional, person.

Very intense! I saw the movie and I liked it (because I knew that it wouldn't be like the book; set my expectations low). Snape's death was very sad, but there were some other poignant moments. I won't be too much of a spoiler. I know that you don't like Lily but the scene where she is killed in front of Harry was very hard for me to take (I'm a mother) so I did cry at that part. Yes, they did "pare down" the Prince's Tale so if you did not read the book (like my husband) you would be a bit confused, but it was not terrible. The child actors were all very cute (whether or not you liked the characters that they were portraying). My one nit pick (OK, I know that I'm being ridiculous here, but...) was that dying Snape tells Harry "You have your mother's eyes." The camera cuts to the blue eyed Daniel Radcliffe, then to the child Lily who has...brown eyes?!? Sloppy film editing!

Well i find it sad that they changed again so much and so many important things... I mean yes i can understand that it was hard for you a mother dying for her child, but to be honest that was the only thing Lily ever did right...-.-
And that they deleted that much in the Prnce tale is... GRR! I really hate this fact! Cause with that you get a totally wrong interpretation of the relation of them and see Miss Evans as an innocent lovely angel she never was! >.< That pissed me off!!!

Still not over *that* scene in the movie (even though I personally thought the whole thing could have been done better); but this is amazing -- heartbreakingly sad of course, yet incredibly beautiful.
