We're doing an art mentor project in my Color and Design class, and my professor suggested using a children's illustrator for mine. So I chose Mercer Mayer
We had to replicate a piece by our selected artist, and next we'll have to do an original using their style. This is my replica, from "It's Mine". Done in acrylic.
Little Critter belongs to Mercer Mayer.

Well done, mercer mayer is an amazing at his illustrations and you did an excelent job here.
However you missed out on my favorite bit the little door mouse

Why thank you! I actually used a reference photo, and oddly enough, the mouse wasn't in it. Mercer must have been slacking that day

Dude, If I didn't know better I'd say this was done by Mercer Meyer himself!
Looks more like watercolors than Acrylic. I guess maybe if you don't cake on the paint or at least water it down, paint has the potential to look like this.
