Growth Pollen Part 1

In a people little city called Nuvema within the Unova Region, Bianca sleeps peacefully waiting for the day to begin. It had been some time since she and her friend Cheren and Hilbert traveled the region facing off against Team Plasma and thing have finally started to settle down long enough for her to relax.

beep beep

Bianca released a low groin as she tossed the covers aside sitting up. So much for my peace and quiet.

beep beep

"Alright, alright," she cried as she reached for her Xtransceiver and pressed receive. "Yes?"

The image of Aurea Juniper abruptly and though Bianca knew her to be a renown Pokémon researcher, she rather startled and confused for some reason.

"Oh…Bianca," Juniper stammered, "I thought I was calling Cheren."

Bianca looked over her Xtransceiver, and in the dim light it was hard to tell, but there was faint blue hue lining the band, instead of the normal cute bright pink.

"Oops," Bianca muttered sitting up. "Sorry Juniper, I must have grabbed his by mistake. Is there anything that I can do for you?"

"Not really," Juniper said quickly, "this is something more suited for Cheren."

Why is she so interested in only contacting Cheren? Bianca thought, I'm just as good as a trainer as he is. Even as the thought formed in her mind she knew it was a lie. Cheren and Hilbert were the real adventures. They were the one who first choice to run off into the world, and push themselves to the limit, and though they would never come out and admit, everyone knew that she was struggling to catch up.

Then a thought came to her, a chance to prove she could handle any problem tossed her way.

"Well if you tell me, I'll be sure to pass it on to Cheren."

"Alright Bianca, you are very trustful and all. Just tell him that a strange Lilligant has been spotted near Lacunosa."

Oh a Lilligant? Very cute, but not very strange or too much of a problem.

"A woman by the name of Fennel went out to study it, but we haven't heard anything from her. So please send this message on to Cheren."
"Of course," Bianca lied.

A few hours later, Bianca exited her home, rustled through her large should bag, pulled a small poke ball and with a cheerful joy called out, "Come on out Unfezant!"

The moment the poke ball touch the ground, it popped revealing a flash of light which formed into the female version of Unfezant. Though small for her size, Bianca still treasured her fighting sprite.

"Okay sweaty, fly me Opelucid City, it's the closet town near Lacunosa, and maybe I can get Iris to help me out."

Unfezant gave a cheerful cry as Bianca climb up on top of her and then flew off into the clouds.

Unfezant touched down in the streets of Opelucid and Bianca as slipped off, she was confronted with frightening looking Druddigon. Normally these dragon Pokémon are barely five feet tall. This one though was a towering eight feet. Terrified, she ducked behind a line of bushes screaming, "Please don't hurt me!"

"Bianca? Is that you?"

Looking over the edge of the bush, she saw Iris standing next to the giant dragon.

"Iris?" Bianca released a sigh of relief. "Oh thank goodness." Standing up she gazed up at the oversize Druddigon, stunned by it height. "Uh…I know you train dragon Pokémon Iris, but how did you find one this big?"

"Believe it or not, but she wasn't this big when I caught her. She wandered into the forest on route twelve and when she came back she was like this."

Bianca rubbed her chin. "I wonder if this has anything to do with what Juniper sent me to look into."

"You?" Iris said looking confused. "I thought Juniper was sending Cheren."

"Oh yeah," she stammered, smiling and looking a little nerves. "Well you see the thing is…uh…he couldn't make it."

"Really?"

"Yes. You know how he's always trying to beat Hilbert. The two of them are most likely off somewhere fighting in some duel. So Juniper asked me to deal with the matter."

Iris raised an eyebrow, clearly not convince.

"Don't give me that look. I can take care of myself."

"Oh of course you can," she said in a mocking voice. She then pulled out small purple and white poke ball with a yellow strip and tossed it up at Druddigon. The moment it made contact, the ball opened and a flash red light enveloped the Pokémon, disappearing inside. As the poke ball fell back down where Iris caught it with a cheerful grin. "Alright then, let's go."

A few hours later, Bianca and Iris entered a small forest near Lacunosa. The heard the faint sounds of Pokémon running about. They could make out a small camp in a clearing and quickly made their way. No one was there, but they could see a number of files and boxes with lab equipment still packed inside.

"Where do you think they went?" Bianca asked.

"Not sure, there are not a whole lot of tracks to go by. Maybe we should spilt up."

A nerves look came over Bianca again. Her knees started to knock. "Are you sure it's safe? What if…what some wild Pokémon attack?"

Iris released a heavy sigh. "Then you fight back. And don't worry. This forest isn't all that big. If you come against something you can't handle, I'll be there in no time to back you up."

Bianca didn't care for Iris tone of voice, but held her emotions in check as she made her way toward the tall grass.

As the two of them walk off, they fail to notice that the grass along the camp site begin to part and a tiny woman forcing her way out into the open.

"No…come back…it's too dangerous!"

The woman was Fennel, one of Professor Juniper's research assistance, and normally she stood about four and half feet tall, but now she was no more than an inch high with a fan leaf wrapped around her body. Her voice was no louder than a whisper and went unheard by either girl.

"Oh my," Fennel said, "I've got a bad feeling about this. I really big bad feeling."
