I know many of you think that the manga I like best is Naruto. But the fact is that I love Pocket monster Special best! (Red is my best favorite character, which is the reason for my nickname :") ) I really like the storyline of Hidenori Kusaka-sensei and the style of Mato-sensei stole my heart :">As I wrote in my profile, Mato-sensei is one of my idols, all his characters are very pure. Maybe you find his style not special but it's the best in my eyes. His style shows us how his soul is, totally pure as a child. I don't read pkm special anymore since another person took place over him. The style of this person made me go off so I gave up this manga..
If you have time I really hope you will try reading this manga :")
As you see, this pic looks very like a Kishimoto sensei's assistant's pic. Yes, I tried to imitate the style.
It took me 3 hours to finish this pic.

Mato is a woman... but nevertheless awesome comic and awesome piece!! my friends think i`m crazy cos i still read this. it sure beats the hell out of the show. (like people die and there is blood!! pokemon is so hardcore!)

aww... may i ask, why dont you like mato? for me personally, i like both. mato has like the innocent vibe in her drawings, but yamamoto has detail. either way the story is the same. you can check all out in this site. they even have BW chapters.[link] now you can read the most current ones, even if you dont like yamamoto u dont have to spend money

Uhm... I think that Yamamoto's style is not as good as Mato's. And of course the writer is still Kusaka Hidenori so the story must be the same (Man, I love this writer!).
Heheh, actually, after quitting Pokemon Special for a while, I just missed the manga so much and continued to read some next vols xD And I realized that Yamamoto's style got better and better! 
But you really made me want to continue reading the manga! And you gave me such a useful website! So I will read it for sure! Thank you a lot, my fan-mate haha!
P/S: Btw, do you know where I can read Mato's mangas in English? Mato is such an mysterious mangaka, I barely know anything about her @__@

haha no problem. And yes i love KUSAKA too. my fave is also the first trio, they`re older and badass. He creates like a sense of real life in pokemon i.e. ppl and pokemon dying, blood ect...
They should tatally replace the animae with the comic, i mean like ash is like 22years old know, and is voiced like a girl... -_-"
As for mato, only things I know abt her. shes a her(thought she was a he when i first started reading), She worked on PKMN Special and left Cos she was on Sick leave too long. Other than that I`m not really sure. Sorry i cant help...

Yes, that's it! People tend to consider Pokemon just for kids (I used to think so LOL) but KUSAKA made it a compelling story for even adults! I love the way he made pokemon a real world, not fairy tale! Yes, just like you said, it has blood, deaths, logicality yet full of life lessons. Man, you made me so excited at Pkm Special again right now LOL
Yeah, I know she quit due to sickness, so sad.. And it's ok that you can't help ^^ I know Mato's website but it can't help much 'coz it doesn't have her background and it's in Japanese ==" But it's ok anyway, just hope she recovers soon and continue her mangaka career ^^

its in japanese? just use the online translators. thats how i browse pokemon art on pixiv( majority are pervy pics, irritates me like shit. it was my intention to rekindle the manga love

its just sad that pkmn special has such a small audience... when the gay show itself irritates parents half to death with their kids glued to the tv.
you know, i read on a forum that BW wasnt supposed to be produced cos they wanted to stop! but they carried on. i suppose they will stop after that. its saddening that it may also end the comic. i hope kusaka likes makes up new arcs, then that would be epic!!

Yeah, I really can't understand why Pkm special has such a small audience. It's greater than many many mangas yet it doesn't have an anime! (While many cheap mangas have their own anime versions ==" ) Even an OVA is ok, I would be tearfully happy if I could see Red, Green, Blue, Yellow.. in action!
My view is a bit different from yours. I think that a too-long story is not always good. I think a good ending is more necessary. You know, it would be great if there was an ending that involves all the characters and they did something great together. Kusaka is a great writer, somehow I want him to creat more manga stories instead of only pkm. Anyway, I think that it's hard for him to write something greater than pkm special 'coz this manga is simply greatest!

Really? I like Mato's but her art was so basic as well as sometimes looked chibish for some people....I like Satoshi because he seems to draw ages and backgrounds and details better and more realisticly, like anime or real life. I mean, if Mato was still an artist HGSS and FRLG with 16 year old dex holders wouldn't have been as awesome. 
And wait 'til you read all his arcs, you'll see. ;D xD

Pokemon Special Is also my fav Manga ^^ as well Naruto, And the Story is REALLY REALLY Amazing, and personally Mato's manga style, its so awesome too!!! I love them all!!!

I just hate it when translators go mess with the names D: < Like movie names, the hell! I'm from Finland myself, you see, and I just went around my favourite dvd shops and what do I see, Monty Python and the Holy Grail for five euros. A great movie, and it was cheap, and my mom had never seen it so I decided I'd buy it so I could watch it with her, wich I did, but just how did they translate the name to finnish? "Monty Python's Crazy World".
