While your comic here does pose very stern logic, I believe I can counter such a conumdrum you propse here. If you first think about it. The only reason vorded became the new champion of darkness was becuase was created in a way that his complete being was devoid of all good, right? And within the lore of this game, darkness and evil are very much a cooperative force, much like light and good are. Most likely the reason Artix still held that champion of darkness title and the title could most likely be given to someone or something that was completely devoid of any and all good within its being. So no matter who killed him, Vorded would most likely become the champion of darkness and even vayle knew this becuase even if she were able to kill artix, Vorded would soon get all of the power that came with his newfound title. And if you're also questioning as to why you couldn't control the "masterless" Vorded was because despite Noxus being defeated, he was not re-killed, so he was still left as Vorded's master, but Vorded may have been masterless due to the fact that all the power he earned during the Arc Attack event, allowed him to most likely surpass Noxus' capabilities of controlling an undead. I'm sorry if this long and boring for you, but I'm just filling the questions and holes you discovered with a very tough logic cement.
