Description

Song Inspiration : Eljay - Sanctuary

Another artwork done in this month! This time featuring my shark character Leana in a full body view

I'm happy to see how she have evolved from the first time I drew her in here = Ref Sheet Leana (Quite lame picture in my perspective now ) . 3 years taken to brainstorm her profile, including revamping her look from time to time, designing her personalities and traits which I enrolled her into the OC-Training group for that cause, and determining her color appearance (First time she was still in monochrome). And finally, I can put her in an artwork featuring herself alone, just like what I've did to my character babes in my gallery like Tefenet the cheetah , Sharna the lioness and Kobayashi the Bali starling. (And they are all in their beach outfit as well. Coincidence? ) And here, she is posing on the beach, before having a leisure surf while enjoying the sunrise. She also has her own personalized swimming outfit and surfing board now, modified from the earlier version.

Damn, wish I can be a early riser like her while me myself tends to snooze down my alarm and continue my slumber.

A little note that I'm also open for a commission for this kind of drawing layout (Full/ half body with scenery background). So if you are interested, note me and we will talk about it! Check my gallery as well so you have a big picture of how my artwork be like!

So, I hope you guys enjoy this!

Artwork and character Leana Clifford belong to me

Colours and contrast in this here are amazing, man! very solid drawing skills with your pencil, but you might wanna increase the eye size of your characters so they look less 'squinky'

Keep it up!

Truth to be told, scaling the eye size is quite a classic issue for me. It's hard to adjust the eyes so that is neither 'Squinky' like you said, nor 'Ridiculously googly'. Also, as I am using pencil to outline the image, it is preferred that the body scale is bigger so I can work on the eye details easily. Not to mention that expression features such as eyes is crucial, because I know this : "Dead eyes, dead picture", plus pencil stains is hard to be cleaned once you make an error, so....yeah

Anyways, happy to know such comment from you! That's means much!

Hmm I kinda get your point, but still, I would suggest you to try out an artwork with bigger eyes for a change to see how you feel about it. With bigger eyes, you can bring many more expressions across and show some sweet beautiful eye colours and transitions in them, hence so many cartoon characters have so big eyes. Just try it and find te right size to fir your faces
