If only the Mass Effect 3 finale had concluded like this.
I drew this based on my first Shepard: a paragon female Commander Shepard with the Destroy (survival) ending and a Kaidan Alenko romance.
This scene is set after the Crucible fires and the Reapers are destroyed. Kaidan and the Normandy return to Earth and to the Citadel to join the search for loved ones. Refusing to believe that Shepard died, Kaidan scours the rubble of the Crucible. Somewhere in the ruins, he can hear a faint gasp. As the blue glow touches the rocks, he can see a hand reaching for a pistol. It is Shepard. He calls her name and her eyes flicker open...
Colour Artist Pencils, 30cm x 42cm (12" x 16 1/2") on 110 GSM white drawing cartridge. *Updated: thanks to my new (and amazing!) A3 scanner, I managed to get a full resolution image for you all to enjoy. Yay for no more dodgy camera shots!!

You know, I honestly think was why they didn't step beyond the mere 'victory' at the end. The kind of epilogue we all wanted would either have to be very drawn out (and therefore anti-climactic) or it would have to remove Shepard from our hands entirely. Neither would satisfy. They didn't close possibilities - they purposefully opened them thereby. They show the war won or lost ... Shepard alive or dead ... cut. Beyond that ---- its up to us. And its meant to be. Our Shepard, our story, our end.

This is probably how most Mass Effect Kaidan-Romancers wanted teh game to end -me fully included.

An end at last... an end to Kaidan's grief and to Shepard's fight against the Reapers. This is how their story should've ended. Beautiful

Lol I know one of the writers had a real problem with the way they wanted to do the ending - or that's what I heard. Didn't like it at all. I can't help but wonder how it would have turned out if the production team had let the authors go ahead and write the ending they saw... Things could have been very different!

Haha, thank you! I do love pencil, but I am (attempting!) to learn computer graphics... Might take me a while to get the feel of it though!

It probably will. I know there was a lot of learning for me, but once I started to really figure out my program and get used to drawing with a tablet, there's a lot I can do digitally. For lines and draft layers, I could do it much much quicker by hand still, though... but it's nice for coloring!
