Description
Inspired by EvanVizuett and sheepman5003In Star Trek Generations, Veridian system was a planetary system in the Beta Quadrant . It consisted of the primary Veridian and six planets, two of which were class M and one of which, Veridian IV , was inhabited by a pre-warp civilization . It was located not far from the Amargosa system . In 2257 , the system's location was labeled on the star chart showing the trajectory of Lieutenant Spock 's shuttle .
In an alternate timeline , Dr. Tolian Soran collapsed the Veridian sun with a trilithium device and the entire system was destroyed by a level 12 shock wave .
Planets of the Veridian System.
Veridian: A Yellow dwarf star, it is a G-type star, in the Beta Quadrant , and was located not far from Amargosa . The star was able to sustain life , as the fourth planet in the Veridian system was host to a pre-industrial sentient species . In 2371 , Dr. Tolian Soran tried to collapse the star using his trilithium weapon : the solar probe , which would have changed the course of the Nexus ribbon to intersect Veridian III . However, he was prevented from doing so by Captains Jean-Luc Picard and James T. Kirk . In an alternate timeline , Soran succeeded and the Nexus took Soran and Jean-Luc before the entire Veridian system was annihilated by the resultant shock wave .
Veridian I: A Light Red Colored Mercury-like planet, it is a non-M Class planet, as seen in movie.
-Veridian I Minor: A Light Red Luna-like moon as seen in movie.
Veridian II: A Orange Mars-like planet, it is a non-M Class planet, as seen in movie.
-Veridian II Minor: A Luna-like moon as seen in movie.
-Veridian II Major: A Luna-like moon as seen in movie.
Veridian III: A Terrestrial planet with uninhabited, Classified as M-class , the planet had three moons . Its surface contained rocky mountainous regions as well as lush vegetative areas. There were also several large bodies of water . Its ionosphere created enough interference that it was hard to penetrate by sensors . In 2371 , the position and orbital path of Veridian III was illustrated in a system map displayed in stellar cartography aboard the USS Enterprise-D. Dr. Tolian Soran used Veridian III as the final key to his plan to return to the Nexus . He established a small launching site on the planet sometime prior to 2371, needing to destroy the Veridian star to change the gravitational forces in the sector and alter the course of the Nexus to Veridian III. He obtained trilithium for his weapon from the Duras sisters , and began destroying other stars in order to alter the path of the temporal energy ribbon towards Veridian III. After discovering his plan aboard the Amargosa observatory , the Enterprise chased Soran to Veridian III, where Captain Jean-Luc Picard beamed down to negotiate with him. In the meantime, the Enterprise was attacked by the Duras sisters. While they were killed when the Enterprise destroyed their ship with a photon torpedo , they inflicted enough damage to cause a coolant leak which led to a warp core breach . The saucer section was safely separated before the stardrive section exploded, but the ion shock wave from the blast left the saucer completely disabled and forced it into the atmosphere of Veridian III, where it eventually crash landed in one of the jungle regions. Dr. Soran eventually succeeded in launching his trilithium weapon, and the resultant collapse of the Veridian star destroyed Veridian III, the Enterprise saucer section, and everything within the Veridian system. Fortunately, Picard was swept into the Nexus along with Soran, and enlisted the help of Captain James T. Kirk . The two captains returned to a few moments before Soran launched the weapon and prevented the launch, saving the Veridian system and Veridian III from destruction. Unfortunately, Kirk was killed in the attempt. Picard buried Kirk on one of the mountains in the area. Three Starfleet ships, including the USS Farragut, a Miranda-class starship , and an Oberth-class starship , were dispatched to the planet in order to rescue Enterprise survivors . Eventually, the crash-landed saucer of the Enterprise-D was lifted off Veridian III and put on display in the Starfleet Museum .
-Veridian III Prime: A Luna-like moon as seen in movie.
-Veridian III Major: A Luna-like moon as seen in movie.
-Veridian III Minor: A Luna-like moon as seen in movie.
Veridian IV: A Earth-like Planet with Native to the Veridians, Veridian IV was home to a pre-industrial civilization of over 230 million inhabitants. After arriving on Starbase Deep Space 9 in early 2372 , Worf told Miles O'Brien that the cost of saving the civilization on Veridian IV was the loss of the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D. As seen in movie.
-Veridian IV Minor: A Luna-like moon as seen in movie.
-Veridian IV Major: A Luna-like moon as seen in movie.
Veridian V: A Brown Orange Tan Venus-like planet as seen in movie.
-Veridian V Minor: A Cotton Candy colored small moon as seen in movie.
