Description         They
              Dribble
           Down

The words

Spittle on a babies chin

Undisciplined mind

Unskilled, clumsy
     I crawl forward, pen in hand

        I stumble

Fuming, frustrated
Papers Crumpled

Destruction

Then try again

Learning, slowly to form the phrases;
Add style and elegance,
Meter and verse.

To convey meaning.

Aiming to stand, to walk freely;
Master of my own words.
Hoping someday to be deserving of
Poet

we all start at the beginning hun, but so long as the desire remains to drive us we do grow. & that is the heart of it - to grow and to develop. even the published "pros" had humble infantile beginnings. don't be discouraged hun! and treasure those first tries . . . they are the roots of your talent.

btw . . .this is wonderful!

thanks yes those first tries are to be remembered... somewhere in a book somewhere i even have my recorded attempts to write poetry of my own free whim. Between then and now things have changed alot in my writing. But it is still nice to have those as markers of ones progress.

It is a painfully sad truth that we must live in a world that sometimes overlooks the greater talent of the unknown for the latest work of the popular. Do not push yourself to hard my young friend. For I doubt your abilities are in question. Of course that is just an opinion, but if enough of us have one. Changes come. :

I shall try not to, but the journey is a long one. It seems that even within a few short months never mind a year my poetry changes so much and the old stuff seems infantile as my exposure to the realm of literature grows. The road is long, so long I am not sure it has an end and I can do naught but wander, wherever it might take me.
