using CS6 and can't get my smudge brush to look anything like yours using those settings.

It's very likely that the settings have been changed considering this tutorial's age, I'm sorry about that. It is however not vital in that sense to get it to look exactly like mine.

You must be thinking of C4D(Cinema 4D) which is a 3D program in which you can also animate. CS5 is simply the latest version of Photoshop.
