Description
Henry Rollins. One of the famous and controversial figures in the punk rock community. While he's made tons of music, I personally dig the stuff he did with Black Flag. Even some of the stuff the band did when they started getting to experimental near the end of their run.

I had meaning to get back into doing another portrait for a while now. So it took a while for me to figure out who I wanted to draw. As I was going through several pictures of various musicans, I came across this photo from a IndiWire article. sta.sh/028m0myx2oxh
I knew right then and there this would be a perfect photo reference to use for my newest portrait.

Doing this was a lot of fun to work on, but as always it was very difficult. This took at least 3 days to finish up.

Getting his signature scowling eyes was something that took the longest to get right. Then there was matter of making sure his chin wasn't too big. Also, there was issue of biulding up all the values in skin and making sure they were properely rendered.

For some reason, the portrait never really looked like him until the very end. And even then, I still think there are some proportions that seem a little off.

This was done using various ink pens along with Posca white marker for a few highlights.
