I was cleaning up my computer and in a document I found this comment I had written to you, but I think I forgot to post it... lol:
"I just remembered, below my comment on your Merp model sheet, I saw you had said to someone else that making her walk cycle would be hard.
She and FG have essentially the same lower body, so Merp's walk cycle can likely be applied to him as well."
Something to keep in mind.

Ah, lol, glad you found that comment. Valid point - I'll take note of that.

You said you needed background artists, can I do that for my next assignment?

Certainly! That would be of huge help! Would you like an Irken or Human environment, for starters?

Irken.
I usually don't draw backgrounds so I don't know if it'll turn out good, but I want to try.

Alright. Well, then, for a quick test, could you recreate this in color?

It's in the same building (the Spike of Judgement) as the art I comissioned WindW01f to do:
windwo1f.deviantart.com/art/Roβ¦
So, while it doesn't need to have the same exact color scheme (in fact, it should be slightly different), you can use this for inspiration on the colors, to get an idea.

Yes, can I start drawing it friday?
Is it gonna be a final background that gets used in the movie? Or just a concept piece?
Because if it's the first I guess I need to know what size I should make it at the minimum, I mean you can't have a 720p background in a 1080p movie (I assume anyway, I don't know much about film making).

This is one fo the rare instances where the BGKey has a big chance of winding up in the final film. So, for specifications' sake, do use a 1920x1080 canvas. It'll guarantee the right size.
As far as the picture itself goes, I should mention that - now that I think of it - you'll need to submit fourΒ different pictures (however, don't be alarmed - you'll only need to draw each thing once).
-The hallway (with a blank transparent space where the elevator doors would be)
-The elevator doors (no need to dedicate a 1920x1080 space for this; simply treat it as you would smaller pieces of an image that would later be placed in like cutouts)
-The elevator's interior (as with the doors, do not worry about allocating a 1920x1080 sized space; just draw the elevator interior so that it may be placed into the image afterwords)
-And all three put together for a completed image. For reference, the top layer of this final image (the one closest to the viewer) would be the hallway, then the doors, then the elevator interior.
One final note: I royally screwed up the doors in my drawing; the defective symbol is sloppy. It needs to be drawn correctly (like this) and the symbol portion should be windows (so, glass, in other words).
Friday works completely fine.

Got it.
It's been a while since I read the script, so what, in short, happens in the scene this background is featured in? and what feeling do you want the audience to experience when seeing it?
The questions are relevant to color theory.

This is the scene in which Squeech is drug down the hall. Represented in this animatic:

Ominous, scary, and - of course - intended to be somewhat funny in a cynical way.Additionally
Additionally, this will be reused in a flashback when someone recalls Zim being found out as a defective. He gets sent through processing, only to escape at the end. The only difference being, of course, that in Zim's flashback, there's nothing ominous or creepy; just sheer stupidity as Zim fails to realize what's going on.
